Fire is everywhere...please avoid open burning of any kind!

🔥 NEW WILDFIRE IN UTAH COUNTY

The Payson Fire is burning near Nebo Loop Road and is currently estimated at 6-10 acres. Fire officials say structures are threatened.

Ground and air resources are on scene working to get a handle on the fire.

🚒 Please avoid the area and give firefighters plenty of room to work. With active firefighting operations underway, staying out of the area is important for both public and firefighter safety.

I’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.

Burn ban info ...read this post!!

We have received some really needed rain, but we're not quite there yet... Moisture levels in the fuel loads out there are still a bit low. County wide burn ban is still in effect. Call 503-324-6262 or check out www.banksfire.org for up to date burn info.

We love you guys!

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is mourning federal wildlife officer David Taylor, 38 of Scio, Oregon, who is believed to have died while helping evacuate residents threatened by the Railroad South Fire.

Officer Taylor was going door to door alongside local emergency crews helping families get to safety. His last contact with dispatch came while he was helping a family evacuate their home. Evidence recovered from a structure where he was working to help a resident escape indicates that he died during the evacuation effort. Formal identification remains pending with the medical examiner.

Everything we know about David's actions reflects extraordinary courage, selflessness and devotion to duty.

Our hearts are with his family, friends, fellow officers and all who served alongside him. We will never forget his service.
