Today, the Butler Police Department remembers the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or the start of summer. It is a time to pause and reflect on the sacrifice made by those who never made it home. Their courage secured the freedoms we live each day, and their legacy lives on through the families, communities, and fellow Americans they protected.

May we never forget the true cost of freedom.

This National Police Week, we honor the weight of the badge.

Behind every uniform is a person who misses dinners with their family, works late into the night, answers calls when others are sleeping, and carries the responsibility of protecting an entire community.

Our officers sacrifice holidays, time with loved ones, comfort, and peace of mind to ensure the job gets done and our community stays safe. Many of those sacrifices go unseen.

This week, we recognize not only the badge they wear, but the burden that comes with it.

Thank you to the men and women of the Butler Police Department for your dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to serving others. 💙🇺🇸

🌱 Butler Community Garden Update 🌱

Our Community Garden continues to grow into something special for the City of Butler and we want to make sure everyone understands how it works.

If you’re interested in having your own garden plot, it’s simple:

Call City Hall and we’ll connect you with our garden managers, Eric Brown and Linda Luccarelli, to get you started.

Here’s the key distinction:
✔️ Garden plots are not public picking areas.
Our gardeners invest their own time, effort, and money into their spaces, and they deserve to enjoy what they grow.

🍎 The orchard is different.
Fruit from the orchard is free for the public to enjoy. Over the past two years, the City has invested in professional pruning and care to ensure a strong, healthy crop for the community.

🤝 Community still comes first.
When there’s extra produce, it doesn’t go to waste. We donate the extras to local churches and food pantries. And as always, if you stop by and ask, our gardeners are often happy to share when they can.

This program works because of respect, communication, and community pride. Let’s keep it growing the right way. 🌿
