Join us for an unforgettable evening with award-winning naturalist Mark H. X. Glenshaw as he presents "Great Horned Owls: Mating, Nesting and Owlets." Since 2005, Mark has closely observed and documented the lives of Great Horned Owls in St. Louis’s Forest Park. In this engaging talk, Mark will share fascinating insights into the owls’ mating rituals, nest selection, feeding of their young, fledging, maturation, and eventual dispersal. Enjoy stunning photos and videos that bring these remarkable birds and their behaviors to life.

Join us next week as we offer FREE eyesight screenings for kiddos 6 months and older! The testing will be done following our storytimes at 11:30 AM on June 9th & 10th.

This service, offered by KidSight MO can identify vision problems in children by using a photo screening device. This state-of-the-art vision screener is handheld, noninvasive, and painless. It takes only seconds to produce an immediate result of pass or refer. The screening provides parents with timely, accurate, and free health information so that they can preserve their children’s eyesight.

All parents of children screened by KidSight will receive the results instantly. If the child is “referred,” the parents will receive important follow up information for finding a child-friendly eye doctor near them and information about financial help.

All vision screening technicians have been trained in eye physiology and common vision disorders of childhood and have passed a background check.

Call for donations! Do you have any old artwork lying around you've been meaning to get rid of? Our Youth Department has an upcoming art craft that uses old works of art and adds to them to give them a new, fun, refreshed look through painting, collaging, and embroidering on top of the original pieces. If you're interested in donating pieces, please drop them off at our Youth Services desk any time until July 1st.

Please note that artworks will not be returned and will be painted over, cut up, or embroidered on for this craft. Thank you for your donations, we really appreciate it!
