Lieutenant Iain Rincon has traveled to Idaho to work as an engine crewmember in Payette National Forest over the summer. We are so excited for the experience and expertise he will bring back to Carter Lake this fall! Very exciting things are happening for our personnel this summer with more to come!

This week, we proudly celebrate the EMS professionals of Carter Lake Fire & Rescue during EMS Week.

EMTs are trained in essential emergency care skills such as CPR, bleeding control, oxygen administration, patient assessment, and assisting with certain medications.

Paramedics receive many additional hours of advanced medical training to expand upon EMT level skills. Paramedics can perform advanced procedures such as cardiac monitoring, administering a wide range of medications, and advanced airway management.

Together, EMTs, paramedics, and firefighters work as a team to deliver compassionate and professional care to our community 24 hours a day. Their dedication and training help ensure that high-quality emergency medical care is available whenever it’s needed.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms, grandmothers, stepmothers, and mother figures in our community!

Today, we especially recognize the mothers serving as firefighters and EMS professionals on our department. Your compassion, strength, sacrifice, and dedication make our community stronger.

We hope today brings time for all moms to feel appreciated, celebrated, and surrounded by love. Wishing everyone a safe, joyful, and relaxing Mother’s Day on behalf of the Carter Lake Fire Department family.

Carter Lake Fire Department is happy to announce that this morning we raised over $3,100 that will be donated to the St. Florian Foundation Children’s Burn Camp. Thank you to our community for all of your generosity!

The members of the Carter Lake Fire Department are out for our bi-annual Boot Drive supporting St. Florian Burn Foundation Burn Camp. ❤️‍🔥

For years, this tradition has helped send children affected by burns to a camp filled with healing, support, friendship, and unforgettable memories.

We will be out on Locust St. at the intersections of 9th and 13th collecting donations until noon and we’d be honored if you dropped a few dollars in the boot. If you can’t make it by, online donations are also appreciated and directly impact these kids and families.

We are beginning the planning process for the Carter Lake Fire Station Renovation Project, approved by City Council in 2025.
A community committee will be formed to provide input, transparency, and guidance as we evaluate current facility needs and plan for the future of fire and EMS service in Carter Lake. Full details are included in the attached letter.
We appreciate the continued support of our community as we move forward with this important project.

On February 18, 2026, members of the Carter Lake Fire Honor Guard attended the funeral of OFD’s Captain John Olson. Captain Olson passed on February 12, 2026, after a battle with cancer. We appreciate the camaraderie between our departments and are honored to be there during their time of grief.

We extend our deepest and most sincere condolences to Captain Olson’s family, the Omaha Fire Department, and all who mourn his loss.
