5th grade had a great field trip to the Utah Museum of Natural History Museum.
The museum staff led a science activity to observe an earthworm and learn about decomposers. The students enjoyed using the various tools and materials to learn with.
The second activity was viewing the exhibits and finding the artifacts and models to connect to their learning in Social Studies.

☀️ What a beautiful day in 3rd grade! ☀️
Today we took our learning outside with a hike at Nobletts Creek! 🥾🌿 We enjoyed the beautiful weather while connecting our CKLA Unit 1 Classic Tales to The Wind in the Willows. We explored the Wild Wood, discovered Mr. Badger’s home, and even found Ratty out on his boat enjoying a picnic lunch! 🐀🛶
It was a day full of adventure, learning, and lots of smiles. A great day was had by all! 💚📚

The “Welcome Back” School assembly was an energetic ralley-
The 8th graders started out out with a fun improv dance that morphed into building a sentence with their individual letter cards. Thank you to these students willing to be fun and lead the rest of the school- make it a great final middle school year!

The next section was roll call by grades (starting with kindergarten! )Then we introduced the new teachers, had the new students stand up and then the returning students ( everyone is important and needed to make our student group fantastic!)
Corn hole activity had teachers earning extra recess time for their class, a corn-on-the-cob eating contest was cheered on loudly- both things were helping promote the upcoming family night activity on Thursday, Sept. 17th at 6:30.🌽

Each student received their school t- shirt and a group photo was taken to capture the beginning of school energy.

We ended with a fun call and response cheer to help strengthen our unity.

2026-27 will be a great school year!

The middle school students are excited to participate in the Osprey Outreach Program this year. It is an opportunity for students to grow through place based education and become more connected to their community.

In 6th grade, students learn how to be good members of the community and understand the characteristics that make a community strong. In 7th grade, students work on projects to beautify the school and the greater Charleston area. In 8th grade, students have the opportunity to leave campus and participate in service projects at five different locations throughout the Heber Valley.

This week, 6th grade students created a poster showcasing ways they can make a difference in their community through small acts of kindness and increased social emotional skills.
