Unfortunately, the Charlestown Memorial Day parade, which was scheduled for tomorrow has been canceled because of rain. Youโ€™re 250th committee is extremely bummed about this because we spent a lot of time getting our parade float together for the event. But donโ€™t worry we are going to display the float around town in various places over the next couple weeks. Keep an eye out for the float and feel free to take a photo in front of it and shared it with us. ๏ฟผ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

๐ŸŒณ Join your communities this September for the first three Liberty Tree planting ceremonies!

On Monday, September 8th, LC350th and Charlestown RI 250 will dedicate Rhode Islandโ€™s first Liberty Trees, with Burrillville 250 Commission following on September 19th. Each ceremony will feature remarks from local leaders, historical reflections, and the dedication of young trees as living memorials to Rhode Islandโ€™s role in the founding of our nation.

Inspired by the original 18th-century Liberty Trees, rallying points for colonists to debate, organize, and envision a new nation, these plantings symbolize freedom, unity, and civic engagement. We invite community members, students, families, and history enthusiasts to be part of this historic moment.
