URI Army ROTC - Cramer's Sabers Battalion Saber's Lead the Way! The OFFICIAL page of Cramer's Saber Battalion serves University of Rh Qualified cadets have the opportunity to attend U.S.

Army ROTC is a program which provides college students the skills and leadership training to become officers in the United States Active Army, Army Reserve, and National Guard. The academic program which ROTC provides challenges students to develop the responsibility, self-confidence, and leadership ability necessary to be successful, not only in the military, but in the civilian sector as well. T

he program emphasizes academic excellence, physical training, written and oral communication, as well as ethics to develop all facets of an individual. Army Airborne, Air Assault, Northern Warfare, and Mountain Schools, all while pursuing the goal of accepting a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army, United States Army Reserve, or Army National Guard

For its many benefits, Army ROTC requires only a few hours a week. It does not interfere with your required college curriculum or social life. In fact, you will find ROTC a great place to form lasting friendships. Upon graduation from a 4-year college and successful completion of ROTC, cadets receive commissions as Second Lieutenants in one of the Army's specialized branches. ⭐️ Senior Spotlight: CDT Clayton Roach ⭐️

From Germantown, TN, CDT Roach is a General Business major with a minor in Military Science and Leadership. Throughout his ROTC career, he has taken on key leadership roles including Safety Officer, Platoon Leader, S2, and OPS SGM, demonstrating strong commitment to both mission and team.

Set to serve in the Rhode Island Army National Guard as a Military Intelligence Officer, he also plans to attend Roger Williams University School of Law to study Business and Labor Law.

His advice to future cadets:
“Be a sponge—absorb as much as you can from everyone around you. Stay humble, learn from mistakes, and keep moving forward.”

From Center Moriches, NY, CDT DiCuffa is an Anthropology major with minors in Leadership Studies and Military Science and Leadership. His ROTC experience has been extensive, including Airborne School, CST OPFOR, CTLT, Tough Ruck, Army Ten-Miler, Massachusetts 5K for the Fallen, multiple leadership engagements with senior Army leaders, and a Battalion Seminar with General (R) Charles Flynn. He has served in numerous leadership roles including Team Leader, Squad Leader, Color Sergeant, Finance Officer, Commissioning OIC, S3, S2, and currently Military Ball OIC.

Set to commission as an Active Duty Air Defense Artillery Officer, CDT DiCuffa’s advice to future cadets: “Apply yourself to the fullest. You get out what you put in. Show up, work hard, be self-disciplined, ask for help, and success will find you.”
