This week, we're excited to introduce Stacey Tomlinson, one of the dedicated Spangler Library members who is always willing to help bring stories to life—both on our shelves and at Storytime!

This week, we're excited to introduce Alicia Tafoya, one of the dedicated Teen Loft members who is always willing to help bring stories to life—both on our shelves and on our stage!

🎭 Role: Library Associate in the Teen Loft
📚 Favorite Book: My favorite book is always the one I am reading at the moment. Right now that's Dungeon Crawler Carl, The Immortal life of Henrietta Lacks, The Hero of Ages, and The Light We Carry (lol - I love to read)
🎬 If I could bring any book to life on the stage what would it be: Fablehaven
💙 Favorite Part of the Job: The people... the children, the teens, the parents, even the staff... ImaginOn is always filled with so many wonderful people!
✨ Fun Fact: I love dogs and have the cutest little Pomeranian puppy named Mia!

It's time for more Staff Spotlight! Our Children's Theatre spotlight is on Alex Aguilar.

🎭 Role: I am the PR & Social Media Manager at Children's Theatre of Charlotte. Basically, that means I handle all media within the company. Many of the photos, videos, or designs you see from us have been done by me. I'm also the person who you're chatting with online or who's making the fun posts on socials. I also perform professional in Charlotte and sometimes you'll get to see me on stage here.
📚 Favorite Book: One of my favorite children's books is "Where the Sidewalk Ends." It's silly and weird, like me, and it's fun poetry. Since I worked in short-form media, I also appreciate short-form literature like poetry, short stories, and comics.
🎬 If I could bring any book to life on the stage what would it be: I would love for there to be TYA musical of "Where the Wild Things Are." It would be cool to see oversized furniture and set pieces to make the lead actor look smaller on stage as well as larger-than-life puppets for the monsters.
💙 Favorite Part of the Job: The best part of my job is storytelling whether it's behind the screen or on stage. Every day I get to meet wonderful people and witness exciting things, and share those moments with our audience. I may not be an author, but I still get to share stories every day.

It's time for more Staff Spotlight! Did you know that the Children's Theatre has a full costume shop right in this building? If not, I would like to introduce you to Anna Klinger, Costume Shop Manager.
🎭 Role: I am the Costume Shop Manager for Children's Theatre of Charlotte. I manage the building and purchasing of all of the magical costumes seen on our stages.
📚 Favorite Book: "Memoirs of a Geisha" and in Children's literature, anything by RL Stine
🎬 If I could bring any book to life on the stage what would it be: Phillip Pullman's "His Dark Materials"
💙 Favorite Part of the Job: I love creating costumes that really help the actors bring characters to life. There is also nothing better than seeing a show with kids who've never experienced live theatre. The energy is palpable.

🎭 Role: Children's Librarian
📚 Favorite Book: for kids, The Adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend by Dan Santat; for adults, The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin; for audio, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern read by Jim Dale
🎬 If I could bring any book to life on the stage what would it be: The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo
💙 Favorite Part of the Job: What's not to love? I LITERALLY get paid to do crafts, play with puppets, and blow bubbles
✨ Fun Fact: I enjoy kids' graphic novels more than adult books, I adore a satisfying 500-piece puzzle, I have accidentally but thoroughly killed every plant I have ever touched, and I have never turned down cheese in any format.
