What would you do if someone’s life depended on you before first responders arrived?

Being prepared can make all the difference.

The Mecklenburg County Clerk's Office partnered with Atrium Health to provide Stop the Bleed® training, equipping our clerks with hands-on, life-saving skills to respond to a bleeding emergency.

Participants learned how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and practiced applying pressure, packing wounds, and using a tourniquet. Each participant also received a Stop the Bleed® certification.

Investing in the health and safety of our employees helps create a safer, more prepared workplace.

After a week of extraterrestrial visitors, cosmic mysteries, planetary missions, and intergalactic adventures, Clerk's Week concluded with NASA Day. We also pause to recognize Juneteenth—a day that honors freedom, unity, and community.

To close out our journey, each unit put its creativity and ingenuity to the test by designing rockets for takeoff. Clerks were also recognized during the Clerk Superlative Awards Ceremony for their leadership, achievements, and commitment to advancing court excellence.

The countdown may be over, but the mission continues. Congratulations to our superlative recipients and every clerk who helped make this year's journey truly out of this world.

The mystery that began with an alien landing in our courthouse has led us here.

Yesterday, we uncovered the truth. Today, we explore where it all began.

For Planet Day, each unit represents a planet, creating a vibrant solar system throughout the courthouse.

Today's mission: Moon Mining. To help their planets thrive, clerks set out to collect the resources needed to fuel future success throughout the court solar system. The challenge served as a reminder that every great civilization is built on trust, dedication, and teamwork.

As it turns out, the courthouse isn't just a workplace; it's a solar system of extraordinary clerks, each bringing unique strengths, talents, and energy that help keep the court system running smoothly.

Today is Clerk’s Day!

Since 2017, Mayor Vi Lyles has proclaimed the third Wednesday in June as Clerk’s Day, recognizing the contributions and dedication of Clerks of Superior Court in advancing court excellence.

The mystery is out …

As part of our “Clerks Are Out of This World” mission, clerks are sporting blackout attire as the truth is finally revealed. These aren’t ordinary clerks. Behind every blacked-out identity is a cosmic force powered by dedication, teamwork, and a commitment to advancing court excellence.

Our Glow Party brought the mission full circle with food, games, and other stellar activities that kept the celebration shining bright.

A special thank you to Olinski Law Firm, Pennant Law Firm, James McElroy & Diehl, P.A., and Conrad, Trosch & Kemmy, P.A. for generously sponsoring today’s lunch.

After crash-landing in the Clerk's Office yesterday, our extraterrestrial visitors have managed to evade capture.

Today, the mission continues.

The visitors may be hiding, but clerks are impossible to miss, bringing a little extra sparkle to the universe today while working to track down our mysterious extraterrestrial visitors in the Detect the Alien Scavenger Hunt.

Will the aliens remain hidden, or will our clerks crack the case?

Stay tuned.

An alien has officially landed in the courthouse, marking the beginning of Clerk's Week 2026!

As we launch our “Clerks Are Out of This World” week-long celebration, clerks across the courthouse are showing their extraterrestrial spirit by sporting shades of green to celebrate Alien Day.

Our special visitor has traveled light-years to discover what makes the Mecklenburg County Clerk's Office so extraordinary. Throughout the day, the alien will be exploring the courthouse, meeting clerks, and capturing photos with the stellar team members who keep our Clerk's Office running smoothly.

From navigating complex missions to providing exceptional service, our clerks prove every day that they truly are out of this world!
