At the September 14, 2026, Board of Education meeting, we recognized our Hilbish Ford Teacher of the Month for September, Ms. Juli Roach, a third-grade teacher at Carl A Furr Elementary School!

Ms. Roach brings joy, care and enthusiasm to her classroom each day, making a lasting impact on her students and their families. We’re so grateful for all she does to make her students feel supported, encouraged and excited to learn! Congratulations, Ms. Roach! The Wolves at Wolf Meadow Elementary School celebrated “Dot Day” yesterday! From big dots to little dots and everything in between, it was neat to see creativity come to life throughout the school!

International Dot Day, held each year on September 15, was inspired by the book “The Dot” by Peter H. Reynolds. The story encourages readers to embrace their creativity, make their mark and believe in their ability to create something of their own. The Wolves certainly made their mark with their creativity and colorful dots!✨🔵🧡

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! Students and staff across CCS kicked off the month today with various activities and celebrations! We visited Carl A Furr Elementary School, where teachers greeted students in the car rider line wearing soccer jerseys and holding flags representing different countries. Students were excited to spot the flags and jerseys and ask questions about them!

From September 15 to October 15, Hispanic Heritage Month gives us all an opportunity to honor the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities while celebrating the many cultures, traditions, and languages represented in our community. ✨🌎🧡

Splish splash, the sheep had a bath! 🫧🐑

Students at Mount Pleasant High School and their sheep are getting ready for the sheep show at the Cabarrus County Fair tonight! Earlier today, students and their AG teacher, Ms. Dulaney, gave their animals a bath and a trim to get them show-ready.

Kudos to all of our students participating in the different shows and fair-related activities! We commend you for your hard work! ✨💙🐑

We’re grabbing the tissues as we look back on this sweet “Grits with Grandparents” breakfast at Winecoff Elementary School! 🥹💙

With Grandparents Day tomorrow, September 13, the Winecoff Leopards welcomed their loved ones to school this past Thursday for a special morning together. From breakfast and big smiles to reading together, the morning was filled with moments that showed just how special these relationships are.

Grandparents even got to learn some reading strategies they can use at home as they read with their students and help them grow as confident readers. It was a morning full of love, laughter, learning and memories that students and their loved ones will carry with them for years to come. ✨📚💙
