The Chelsea Police Department is requesting any neighbors in the Heritage Pointe and Heritage Farms subdivisions who may have video footage related to the recent Larceny from Auto incidents that occurred today, October 20, 2026, between the hours of 1:00 am and 2:00 am. If you have video footage available, we are asking you to send an email to Investigator Tom Gilbreath at [email protected], and he will then send you a link so that you can securely send the footage to the Chelsea Police Department.

City of Chelsea staff, along with some generous residents, came together yesterday to donate approximately 30 pints of blood through the American Red Cross!

Every donation can help save lives, and we’re grateful to everyone who helped make a difference in our community.

Thank you to Washtenaw County SafeHouse Center for hosting the annual Purple Run in support of domestic violence awareness! CPD staff enjoyed participating in this event for such an important cause. We’re grateful for the opportunity to support our community and raise awareness together.💜

Update: Power has been restored to the South End. Thank you, Chelsea Light and Power!

The City of Chelsea is experiencing a power outage on the south end of the city after a crash. Crews are enroute to address the issue.

German shepherd found near M-52 and an unknown cross street. Has grey harness and matching leash. Is not microchipped.

Our community has seen a rise in A.I. and Bitcoin scams once again. Chelsea Police, The Washtenaw County Sheriff, and any other governmental agency (local, state, or federal) will never call you and request payment using Bitcoin. If you have any questions regarding something's legitimacy, call CPD at 734-475-9122 Ext. 3.

✏Back to School Means Safety First!🎒

As our Chelsea Bulldogs head back to school, remember to slow down and stay alert in school zones. Always stop for school buses when their red lights are flashing and yield to pedestrians in crosswalks. A few extra seconds can make all the difference in keeping our students safe.
