8/31/2026 - Announcements for this week:

* September's City Council Meeting will be moved to Tuesday, September 1st due to Labor Day

*EDIT* City Park's boat dock area will be closed to the public Wednesday, 9/2 starting at 11 AM.

* Bids for the municipal building's handicap ramp project are due today, 8/31, by end of business.

* City Offices will be closed next Monday for Labor Day (9/7)

8/25/2026 - 2:25 PM - The precautionary boil order from yesterday has been lifted. Thank you

8/24/2026 - 3:05 PM - The water department will be turning on the water to the main in about 10-15 minutes. Water will slowly be restored. A Boil Order is now in effect. If you experience discolored water please run cold water until it dissipates. Sorry for the inconvenience.

8/24/2026 11:00 AM - Emergency water break on Chester's main line. Water service in town will be shut off immediately to make the urgent repair. A boil order will follow. Lawrenceville area should not be effected. We will update when we have news. We're expecting to be down for a few hours. Water crew is on site and is preparing the repair.

8/16/2026: We are aware of a water break on Third Alley. We have dispatched a crew to respond. We should be able to isolate the break to that area. Everyone else should still maintain service.

7/21/2026: The hydrant flushing for Lawrenceville has been postponed due to impending weather. It will be rescheduled to tomorrow. Thank you

7/20/2026 - Fire Hydrants in Lawrenceville will be flushed on Tuesday (7/21). If you experience water discoloration please run cold water until clear.

Chester fire hydrants are tentatively scheduled to be flushed later this week. We will post that date when available.

4th of July 2026 City Office Hours - City offices will close at 12 pm today (7/2/2026) and will reopen Monday, 7/6/2026. Have a happy 4th! Be sure to check out all the activities taking place in town all weekend!

The City of Chester Water and Sewer Department has posted notification of the 2025 version of the annual CCR Report is now available at the Water Office during regular office hours of 9-4, Monday - Friday. This report will not be mailed.

The notification advertisement in the Weirton Daily Times omitted that information and we wanted to make sure that it was posted.
