6/17/2026 - 9:25 AM - Water service is being slowly restored as of 9:25 AM. A boil order is being issued for all customers that lost complete water pressure during the outage. All others are to resume as normal.

6/17/2026 7:30 AM - The water main break is too big to fix without shutting off the water. We will have an emergency water outage this morning to complete the repair. The Upper End and Lawrenceville should not be effected. A boil order will follow restoration of service.

Since this water main break occurred in an area that has not already been isolated by valving it necessitates that we shut the water main down. As most of you are aware, prep work for this area of town has been done for some time, however the contractor has not yet completed the work. While this news is frustrating to everyone, we are working with the Army Corps in order to speed up the process and get this project across the finish line. Thank you

6/17/2026: Please avoid 6th Street between Florida and Louisiana Ave. It is closed off due to the water main break.

City offices will be closed for Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th 2026. We will reopen with normal hours on Tuesday.

5/21/2026 - 2:30 PM: Repair has been made. Lines are being pressurized. Full service should return within the hour. If you experience discoloration in the water, run cold water. A boil order has been issued for all customers except those customers residing in the upper end of Chester and Lawrenceville. Thank you

5/21/2026 - 12:15 PM: Unplanned water outage due to contractor hitting a water main on 6th Street that hasn't been isolated yet. We'll update when the repair is made.
