We’ve taken several votes on data center regulation, and we are doing a couple more this week. But the Senate is refusing to take up any data center regulation bill. The people want state level regulation, inexcusable to refuse to work on these issues.

The Pennsylvania House has passed several bipartisan bills to create rules on data centers so that they don't jack up our electric bills, get built where they don't belong, or cause blackouts. But the Senate Majority Leader Joe Pittman doesn't even want them to be discussed.

Pennsylvanians deserve action. It's up to the State Senate to listen!

Lost my mom to Parkinson’s. Infuriates me that her death was likely caused by exposure to this chemical. We’ve got to protect Pennsylvanians and get this poison out of here. By the way, it’s illegal to use this in China, where is is manufactured, but perfectly legal to dump it in our communities here. 😡 Why can’t we have the same protections for OUR people?!

Good conversation today in the PA capital with our Congressman about everything happening in the Allegheny Valley. Congressman Chris Deluzio is one of the most tuned in, down to earth politicians I know. I have great respect for him. He gets it.

🎉 HB 2224 just passed out of the House! The Return on Equity Act. Unanimous vote. 🎉

If the Senate passes this bill, it will be money back in your pocket. And we could all use a little of that right now.

Essentially-

Utility companies are making record profits while people are struggling to pay their bills.

Our current system delivers excessive profits for shareholders through excessive ROE (Return on Investment). ROE is the biggest driver of unnecessary rate hikes.

This bill simply corrects this- utilities must accept a FAIR ROE.

Proud to co-sponsor this important bill by my friend Rep. Elizabeth Fiedler and be a part of the effort to push back against RECORD PROFITS by utilities.

We had a successful Seniors for Safe Driving event last week!
I was happy to see so many people attend the class at the Sharpsburg Senior Center. Approved by PennDOT, the course helps drivers age 55 and older refresh their driving skills and qualify for a 5% discount on their car insurance. If you weren't able to attend, don't worry, I’ll be offering the class again in the future. Keep an eye on my newsletters for details!

As Treasurer of the Bipartisan Pennsylvania Sportsmen’s Caucus, it was fun to present our biggest check yet to the amazing people at Hunters Sharing the Harvest. This trail blazing organization connects generous hunters to food banks, soup kitchens, and community pantries. A lot of hard work by some really dedicated people went into this, I’m proud to be a small part of it. Much gratitude and respect to the incomparable John Plowman.

People are struggling to put food on their tables and gas in their cars. I remain infuriated that big tech is profiting in such a mind blowing way right now.

An important bill we passed this week with a bipartisan vote- HB 1678. You know all those annoying ads when you’re watching YouTube or scrolling facebook? Big tech companies like Amazon, Meta, Google, and Microsoft are making a ton of money on those ads, but they’re not paying any PA taxes on them.

If we taxed them like we tax other ads, we could generate $500 million dollars in PA, money that could be used to help seniors, fund schools, roads, bridges, and more. With no cost to the working people of PA. I was excited to help advance this bill and send it to the Senate. Hope they pass it fast.

Pennsylvania National Guard Air visited us in the Capital this week to demonstrate some of the drone technology used in warfare. They showed us drones that can help monitor downed pilots in war zones and warn of approaching enemy combatants. The Army division gave field medicine demonstrations that were amazing and shared info about special hand to hand combat training they receive. Of course my wrestler son was fascinated by the hand to hand combat guys! It was very interesting to learn more about our PA National Guard and nice to have the opportunity to thank them for their service.
