Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago has declared an Overflow Action Day in anticipation of heavy rainfall.

Overflow Action Alert

Heavy rain is expected in the Chicago area today. Reduce your use of water during and after the storm to help prevent flooding and protect water quality:

• Delay showers and baths
• Flush less frequently
• Wait to run the dishwasher or washing machine

Flooding and sewer backups can happen for a variety of reasons. To help prevent flooding inside or around your home, there are actions you and your family can take before and during rainfall.

City of Chicago departments and team members are out in the ward responding to severe weather impacts, including clearing fallen trees, debris, and downed wires.

Our office will be open until 8pm.

1️⃣ Report fallen tree limbs to 311 or our office.

2️⃣ Forestry crews are first addressing large limbs and hazards on main streets before moving to side streets and smaller debris.

3️⃣ Other storm-related concerns, including hanging branches, basement flooding, and drainage issues, can also be reported through 311 or our office.
