Are you visiting Old Irving Park for Halloween? Are you a resident of Old Irving Park? There are multiple block parties with street closures in the neighborhood. Please plan accordingly, and if you need to drive in the area plan extra time or use alternate routes. If you are visiting Old Irving Park for Halloween there will be parking available in the St. Viator Parking lot between 6pm-11pm. Please be considerate if you are using the St. Viator's parking lot and leave by 11pm.

A friendly reminder from the Chicago Department of Streets & Sanitation - please do not rake/blow your leaves into the street. When you are doing fall yard work please use the appropriate yard waste bags, place them in your alley, and call 311 for a yard waste pick up.

Raking leaves into the street puts additional strain on the street sweepers, and this past week one of the sweepers that services the 30th Ward was broke due to a branch that had been covered by a pile of leaves that had been raked into the street.

We appreciate your help in keeping the 30th Ward clean!

30th Ward Weekly Recap:

💵 We hosted two property tax appeal events, one here in our office, and one at St. Ferdinand's. Thank you to Cook County Board of Review and Cook County Commissioner Jessica Vásquez for providing this valuable service to residents.

💧We hosted a community meeting with the Water Department where we shared information about the benefits of replacing a lead service line and answered questions about the infrastructure project on Marmora.

🗣We stopped by the community meeting hosted by My Block, My Hood, My City where Jahmal Cole talked with residents about what makes Belmont Cragin a unique and special neighborhood.

💜 We participated in the 25th District's annual domestic violence walk and rally to raise awareness and show support for survivors of domestic violence.

⛪ We participated in the Fatima Procession from St. Ladislaus to St. Ferdinand. Thank you to both parishes for inviting us, and to the 25th district for helping participants safely navigate the streets.

👻 We joined Gray Elementary for their annual Trunk or Treat event, and we were thrilled to see so many families participating, even with the rainy weather.

🎨 We stopped by the opening of the Art of Epilepsy exhibit where we saw beautiful art and connected with the artists behind the work.

🍂We celebrated all things autumn at the Chopin Park Harvest Festival and Market. We are so proud of the Chopin Park Advisory Council and everything they are doing to build community at Chopin.

🇵🇱 We attended the ceremony celebrating Polish Highlander Day at Daley Plaza, where the traditions of the Polish Highlanders were on display.

🎃 We were at the Scammon Elementary, Steinmetz High School, and the 025th District trunk or treat events - and loved seeing everyone dressed up in their costumes!

👧 We welcomed My Little World daycare to the 30th Ward at their grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony!

👻 We stopped by the Toddler Town Daycare trunk or treat and celebrated Halloween with families and staff.
