It's time to start talking. Some people aren't aware they have a family history of colon cancer because a family member kept their illness a secret or no one talked about the diseases that run in the family. A family history of colon cancer or polyps means you have a first degree relative (parent, sibling, or child) multiple other family members) with a history who’ve had colorectal cancer. This can put you at an increased risk for the disease and earlier screening is necessary to prevent or it early. Talk to your physician about genetic testing. #screeningmadness #familyhistory #getscreened #familysecrets Lurie Cancer Center University of Illinois Cancer Center UChicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center NCCRT - National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable Big Ten Conference NCAA Chicago Sky National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities
