Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA/Agency) is a regional wastewater treatment agency and wholesale distributor of imported water.

The Agency is responsible for serving approximately 935,000 people over 242 square miles in western San Bernardino County. Today, the Agency is responsible for serving over 242 square miles in western San Bernardino County. The Agency is focused on providing three key services: (1) treating wastewater, developing recycled water, local water resources, and conservation programs to reduce the region’s dependence on imported water supplies and drought-proof the service area; (2) converting biosolids and waste products into a high-quality compost made from recycled materials; and (3) generating electrical energy from renewable sources.

🚽 What Not to Flush Wednesday

Fats, oils, and greases—also known as FOG—may seem harmless when poured down the drain, but they can cool, harden, and build up inside pipes over time. That buildup can lead to clogged pipes, sewer backups, and costly maintenance.

🍳 Let FOG cool and solidify, then place it in the trash instead of pouring it down the drain.

✨ Have you spotted these water-wise makeovers? ✨

Take a look at how the cities of Chino and Chino Hills have transformed public spaces through IEUA's Turnkey Turf Transformation (T3) Program! These completed projects have replaced nonfunctional turf with California-friendly landscaping and water-efficient irrigation to support long-term water savings.

📍 Chino City Hall | Chino (Slide 2): Approximately 27,000 square feet of turf transformed, with projected water savings of 4 acre-feet per year.

📍 Fairfield Ranch Trail | Chino Hills (Slide 3): Approximately 15,000 square feet of turf transformed, with projected water savings of two acre-feet per year.

Together, these projects transformed approximately 42,000 square feet of turf with projected water savings of nearly two million gallons per year!
