Established by several local homesteaders in 1952, the CVFD presently has a fire service area that extends from the Knik River bridge on the New Glenn Highway in the north, to the North Eagle River overpass and access road to the south, and is bordered by the Cook Inlet to the west and the Chugach State Park and Chugach Mountains to the east.

Come spend the day with your local volunteer firefighters and EMTs for an afternoon of hands-on activities, family fun, and an inside look at what we do to serve our community.

⚾ Summer evenings, baseball, and community! Well it doesn’t get much better than that, and your local fire department would love to see you there.

Chugiak Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department is proud to sponsor the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks first home game of the season, and we are turning it into more than just a ballgame for an evening of baseball, community, and family fun.

Wage Range - $30.00 to $38.00 per hour DOE

Chugiak Volunteer Fire & Rescue will be honoring Chief Chad Cameron by staffing apparatus and members at all overpasses within our service area as the procession travels from Palmer to Anchorage. This show of support represents our respect, gratitude, and solidarity with Chief Cameron’s family and the fire service community.

First Responders are encouraged to attend in uniform to help create a powerful sea of blue. Community members and non-uniformed attendees are invited to honor Chad by wearing their favorite Hawaiian shirt, a tribute that reflects his spirit.

Procession Details
πŸš’ The procession will depart Palmer High School at 9:30 AM, traveling through Palmer and onward to Anchorage. Members assigned to overpasses will be in position prior to arrival.

Flowers
πŸ’ Flowers may be delivered to the church on Friday, December 19th.
