COMMUNITY TRAINING NOTICE — STATION 32 AREA

Our firefighters and EMS crews will be conducting a large-scale training exercise this evening in the neighborhood near Station 32.

During the exercise, you may see multiple emergency apparatus, firefighters, EMS personnel, and other activity responding through the area. Please don’t be alarmed — this is a planned training exercise, not an actual emergency.

Our Training Office has put together a full-scale simulated incident that will take our crews through the entire process — from the initial dispatch all the way through arrival at the hospital. The scenario could involve medical, trauma, rescue, or anything in between. Be ready for anything!

This is a complex simulation with a lot of moving parts, and it gives our members an opportunity to practice working together under realistic conditions.

We appreciate our community’s patience and understanding while we train to be better prepared when you actually need us.

If you see the emergency vehicles this evening, know that we’re training — not responding to an emergency.

Stay safe, Chugiak

CHUGIAK VOLUNTEER FIRE & RESCUE DEPARTMENT IS HEADING TO TOK

When our neighbors need help, Alaska firefighters answer the call.

Today, Chugiak Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department is sending four firefighters, Brush 31, and Utility 33 to Tok to assist with the rapidly growing Mukluk Fire.

The fire, which started earlier today west of Tok, has spread rapidly in hot, dry and windy conditions, prompting evacuations and a significant response from fire crews across the state.

Our crews will join firefighters and emergency responders working to protect lives, homes, and communities threatened by the fire.

We are proud of our members who are stepping up to help fellow Alaskans in their time of need. Stay safe, stay ready, and keep those on the fireline in your thoughts.

Stay safe, Tok. Chugiak is coming to help.
