Event Update: Tails & Trails Rescheduled! 🐾

Due to forecasted unseasonable weather this Saturday, our Tails & Trails event (originally planned for May 6) has been rescheduled to Saturday, May 30th.

While early registration (and the free t-shirt offer) has ended, goodie bags will still be available while supplies last!

The best part? No registration is needed anymore—just bring your four-legged friends and join us for a fun day on the VA Rail Trail.

We can’t wait to see you there!

The Harrison County Commission joins our community in honoring the life and legacy of Circuit Clerk Albert Frank Marano, Jr.
Albert dedicated more than 30 years to public service in Harrison County, serving with distinction as Deputy Sheriff, Chief Deputy, and as Sheriff from 2008 to 2016. In 2016, he continued his commitment to our community as Circuit Clerk, a role he faithfully fulfilled until his passing.
Throughout his career, Albert was known for his leadership, integrity, and unwavering dedication to the people of Harrison County. He built lasting relationships within our community and earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and citizens alike. His impact on our county will be felt for generations.
In honor of Albert’s life and service, flags at all Harrison County buildings have been lowered to half-staff.
Albert was a devoted husband, father, and family man, and we recognize the deep loss felt by those closest to him.
The Harrison County Commission extends its deepest condolences to his friends, family, and colleagues. We stand with them, and with our community, as we remember and celebrate a life defined by service.
Albert’s legacy will not be forgotten.

🚧 Public Service Announcement 🚧
The Shinnston Rail Trail is currently closed from the bridge near the wastewater treatment plant and extending past the facility due to ongoing repair work.
For your safety and the safety of crews on site, please do not enter the active work zone.
At this time, the only access point to this section of the trail is from Enterprise. Please note that travel toward Shinnston is limited, and you will need to turn around before reaching the closure and head back towards Enterprise.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as these improvements and repair work are completed. Stay safe! 🚶🚴‍♀️🚲🚶‍♀️
