ATTENTION CLAY COUNTY VOTERS

You might have received a 'Request a By-Mail Early Voting Ballot' application in the mail recently. This form is NOT from our office! It appears to be distributed by Center for Voter Information which is not affiliated with the Clay County Election Office.

Since Clay County is a 'By-Mail' county for voting, you do not need to complete this form to get your ballot.

Our office will mail ballots for the November 3, 2026 General Election on or around October 13, 2026 to all active registered voters with a confirmed mailing address.

If you have questions regarding your voter registration or how by-mail voting works, please call our office at 402-762-3463.

August 3, 2026 is the filing deadline for Non-Incumbent candidates to file for non-partisan offices for the General Election.

TODAY is the INCUMBENT FILING DEADLINE for Non-Partisan races on the General Election!!!!

Incumbent = those currently holding any elected office

GENERAL ELECTION FILING DEADLINE REMINDER

Filings must be received by the County Clerk’s office by:
- July 15th for Incumbents
- August 3rd for Non-Incumbents

An incumbent is anyone serving in an elective office even if they are filing for an office other than the one in which they are presently serving.

(This deadline concerns villages, townships, Class II Schools, ESU’s, and public power districts. Those filing for ESU or Public Power Districts must file at the state level)

ELECTION DAY REMINDERS!!!

The Clay County Election Office is open until 8:00 pm CST today. After 4:00 pm only the South door (parking lot entrance) will be open.

You can return your ballot directly to our office on the 2nd floor of the Courthouse or in the drop box in the parking lot.

You are encouraged to hand deliver your ballot to our office today (via in person or drop box).

If you place your ballot in the drop box AFTER 8:00 pm - it will NOT be considered for counting!

8:00 pm IS YOUR DEADLINE TO CAST YOUR VOTE!!!
