🧡🖤 Alumni Spotlight: Cody & Shannon DeLorenzo

Two Mustangs are turning their family’s experience with breast cancer into a mission to help others.

Cody and Shannon, both 2012 Clio graduates, are raising awareness about the importance of early cancer detection following Shannon’s breast cancer battle. Cody is taking that message on the road, running 313 miles from Lambeau Field to Ford Field! In partnership with the Detroit Lions, he’s carrying the game ball for the Lions vs Packers matchup on October 25.

We’re proud of Cody and Shannon for sharing their story and inspiring others. Mustang Nation is cheering you on every mile! 🏃🏈

🌼 A look inside Señor Retberg’s classroom!

Students are exploring the traditions of Día de los Mu***os, a Mexican holiday observed November 1–2 that honors and remembers loved ones who have passed away.

The classroom features an ofrenda, meaning “offering,” a special display traditionally decorated with photographs, flowers, favorite foods, and meaningful objects to celebrate loved ones’ lives and memories.

Learning about traditions like this helps students deepen their understanding of the Spanish language and the cultures connected to it. Thank you, Señor Retberg, for bringing these lessons to life! 🧡🖤

🧡🖤 Every Mustang Matters. Every Mustang Counts!

Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 7, is Count Day!

Count Day helps determine the state funding that supports our classrooms, teachers, programs, and student services at Clio Area Schools. Your child’s attendance helps us accurately count the students we serve and secure resources for their education.

Please help your Mustang:
✅ Arrive on time and ready to learn.
✅ Attend all classes and stay for the full school day.
✅ Keep building strong attendance habits, every day counts!

If your child is sick or unable to attend, please follow your school’s usual absence reporting procedures.

Thank you, Clio families, for helping our Mustangs learn, grow, and succeed! 🧡🖤
