🍲 Goulash Sunday Takes a Summer Break ☀️

"Ég a napmelegtől a kopár szík sarja..."
(The summer sun burns upon the barren plain.)

The Hungarian poet János Arany begins his epic Toldi with a picture of a scorching summer day. The sun burns the fields, the grasshoppers grow weary, and even the workers seek refuge in the shade.

Summer has arrived.

And somehow, goulash belongs to a different season.
A season of cooler air, slower afternoons, and steaming bowls shared around a table.

So we'll let the pot rest for the summer.

There will be no Goulash Sundays in June, July, or August.

But when the first hints of autumn return, so will the paprika, the homemade noodles, the red wine, and the familiar warmth of a Hungarian Sunday afternoon.

🍲 Goulash Sunday returns:
📅 Sunday, September 6.

Until then, enjoy the sunshine, the lakes, the patios, and the long northern Minnesota evenings.

We'll keep the pot warm for you.
