We’re proud to celebrate the swearing-in of Judge Kristen Hoffecker as Colorado Springs’ new Presiding Judge.

She brings more than two decades of legal experience to this role, including service as an Associate Municipal Court Judge since 2016 and as a Magistrate Judge for the Fourth Judicial District. Her career spans municipal, county, district, and private practice, along with prior service as a prosecutor for both the City of Colorado Springs and the Fourth Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

Join us in congratulating Judge Hoffecker as she steps into this important role and leads the Municipal Court into its next chapter.

🚧 Road closure update: Pope's Valley Road

Pope's Valley Road is closed between Germaine Court and Rusina Road while Public Works repairs roadway damage caused by erosion.

A tree fell into the creek, diverting water against the bank and causing significant erosion that led to road failure. Crews are working to stabilize the area and repair the roadway.

Repairs are expected to take 7–10 days, with the road anticipated to reopen early to mid-week of Aug. 3, weather permitting.

Overnight emergency access: At the end of each workday, all equipment will be moved to the westbound lanes, allowing the eastbound lane to remain open overnight for emergency vehicles only.

Please use alternate routes, follow posted detours, and avoid the closure area while repairs are underway. Thank you for your patience as crews work to safely restore the roadway.
