⛰️ 220 years after Zebulon Pike’s failed attempt to climb the mountain that now bears his name, his original field notebook is making the journey to the top. For a limited time, you can see Pike’s historic notebook, along with his sword and a commission signed by President James Madison, at the Pikes Peak Summit Visitor Center.
The notebook arrived this week at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum and will be carefully placed on display at the summit this Friday.
Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind exhibition, on display June 12th through Aug. 10th as part of the America 250 Colorado 150 commemoration. Come experience a remarkable piece of local, state and American history where it belongs: on the summit of Pikes Peak - America's Mountain!

🚧 Beginning this Wednesday, June 10th, two eastbound lanes on Circle Drive will be closed between I-25 and Janitell Road to allow crews to install a waterline as part of the Circle Drive Bridges project. These closures are expected to last through mid-July. Travelers should plan for additional travel time and expect delays in the area.

Additional traffic impacts include:
➡️ Closure of the outside left-turn lane from the southbound I-25 off-ramp to eastbound Circle Drive. One left-turn lane will remain open.
➡️ Closure of the left-turn lane from southbound Janitell Road to eastbound Circle Drive. A signed detour will direct traffic around the closure.

The Circle Drive Bridges project replaced four aging bridge structures originally built in 1963 and is improving long-term safety, mobility and multimodal access along one of the city’s key transportation corridors. Find project updates at ColoradoSprings.gov/CircleDriveBridges.
