🐾 Treats with Purpose! 🐶
Did you know that some of the best dog bones in Columbus are baked with a whole lot of heart? Growlers Dog Bones is a registered nonprofit turning local craft beer's spent grains into all-natural, delicious treats for our furry best friends. But their mission goes far beyond baking!
Operating out of the state-of-the-art commercial kitchen space at Columbus State Community College’s Mitchell Hall, Growlers provides vital vocational training, employment, and community connection for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Meet the heart and soul of the operation: their talented team of bakers with special needs. Around the kitchen table, these bakers handcraft every single bone using custom molds, and—in a wonderful personal touch—every single bag is personally signed by the baker who made it!
From partnering with local Ohio microbreweries to source sustainable spent grains, to grinding their own peanut butter and milling local ingredients, Growlers is a shining example of community collaboration at its finest.
Next time you want to spoil your pup, pick up a bag of Growlers Dog Bones (we hear the bacon flavor is a fan favorite!) and support an amazing local mission that proves everyone has a purpose. 📍 Find them at local Columbus taprooms, markets, and online! Stayed turned for more fun from the Growler's bakers!
