This May, OhioHealth is celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month by addressing health disparities and how we can work towards bridging them. OhioHealth’s Asian BRG, an associate-led group dedicated to promoting Asian cultural awareness, gathered yesterday to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month with a panel of representative providers.

It is always an honor to share culture and expertise, and we are thankful to the panel speakers, BRG members and associates for creating a welcoming space to celebrate culture.

We are digging into how this exclusion came to be and what’s changing today. Policies once intended to protect women led to a lack of data, contributing to delayed care, sometimes unsafe treatments and overlooked conditions. This history highlights the importance of inclusive research to support healthier communities.
