Last year, instead of fixing the school funding problem, lawmakers inserted language into the budget declaring they’ve "devoted extensive time, energy and public tax dollars" to satisfying the Claremont rulings — despite ongoing court decisions saying otherwise.

HB 1456 removes that untrue self-congratulatory language and puts the focus back where it belongs: meeting the State’s constitutional responsibility to students and taxpayers.

VICTORY: The NH House just unanimously rejected reinstating the death penalty in New Hampshire. Our state repealed the death penalty in 2019 because it is inhumane, fundamentally flawed, racist, and error-prone – and we commend lawmakers for sticking to that decision today.
