SANITATION DELAY: Due to multiple road closures and hazardous travel conditions across the county this afternoon, Cullman County Sanitation was unable to complete its regular collection routes because of the severe weather.

If your pickup was missed, please leave your trash cans at the roadside. Sanitation crews will resume collection efforts tomorrow morning and complete the affected routes as conditions allow.

Today, there are medium to high (40-70%) chances of showers and thunderstorms across the Tennessee Valley.

There are chances for thunderstorms becoming strong to severe in intensity, with the main threats strong to damaging wind gusts and large hail. Very heavy downpours and frequent lightning is also expected.

The most likely time window for strong to severe storms is between 10 AM to 2 PM CDT.

A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN CULLMAN AND
SOUTHERN MORGAN COUNTIES THROUGH 700 PM CDT...

At 607 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking clusters of strengthening
thunderstorms between Falkville, Hartselle, and Decatur, moving
southeast at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 45-50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Decatur, Hartselle, Priceville, Falkville, Somerville, Eva, Basham,
Hulaco, Cole Springs, and Lacon.
