📍SHADES LANE BETWEEN HARDING AVE EXT. & BALTIMORE AVE
📆8/31/26-9/4/26
🕖7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Daily)

The City of Cumberland Public Works Department will close Shades Lane between Harding Avenue, Ext. and Baltimore Avenue to through traffic from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Monday, August 31. This closure will occur daily until work is completed. Work is expected to be completed by Friday, September 4, but may be extended if necessary. The temporary closure supports and coordinates paving of Phase 2 & 3 of the water line replacement project.

During these hours, the roadway may be closed to all through traffic except emergency vehicles, or flagging operations will be in place. Residents parking on Shades Lane should make accommodations to have vehicles out of the area prior to the beginning of the closure daily. Access to properties in the area will be available but may be delayed while work progresses. Residents should be aware and plan for potential delays.

Work schedules are weather- and field-condition dependent and may conclude earlier than scheduled or be extended if necessary. Drivers are urged to use caution near the work area.

Any questions or concerns should be directed to the Street Department at 301-759-6622.
