DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY

On June 22, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Daymeian Marquay Cash. The summons resulted from a private citizen filing for charges at District Court. Cash signed for his copy of the summons and was released pending trial at District Court.

CRIMINAL SUMMONS for CDS

On June 22, 2026 the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Donald Matthew Garland. The summons was issued after a Cumberland Police officer conducted a traffic stop where Garland was a vehicle occupant. A K-9 was requested to the scene and alerted positively to the presence of CDS. Police searched Garland and located a quantity of CDS. Garland signed for his copy of the summons and was released pending trial at District Court.

BENCH WARRANT SERVED
On Saturday June 20, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Jessica Lynn Michels for failure to appear in court. She was originally charged with two counts of failure to send child to school. She was later seen by a District Court Commissioner for initial appearance and released on her personal recognizance. ARRESTED: Jessica Lynn Michels AGE: 39 Cumberland, MD

ASSAULT ARREST
On Sunday June 21, 2026 at approximately 12:03 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence on the 200 block of Bond St. to investigate a reported domestic assault. Officers contacted the alleged victim. The alleged victim had visible injuries and reported being assaulted by Samantha Nelson. Nelson was located inside the residence. While effecting an arrest on Nelson; she actively resisted. After a brief struggle Nelson was taken into custody and transported to Central Booking. Nelson is currently in detention at the Allegany County Detention Center waiting to be seen by a District Court Commissioner for initial appearance. ON-VIEW CHARGE: Assault 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest. ARRESTED: Samantha Michelle AGE: 34 Cumberland, MD

CRIMINAL SUMMONS SERVED
On Friday, June 19, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Tiffany Reuschel. The summons was issued as the result of a private citizen filing charges against Reuschel at the District Court of Allegany County. She was released pending trial. ARRESTED: Tiffany Reuschel AGE: 34 Cumberland, MD CHARGES: Theft: $100 to under $1,500

BURGLARY ARREST
On Friday, June 19, 2026 at approximately 10:17 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 200 block of Paca Street for an assault. Police arrived and contacted the alleged victim who reported that Jacob Minnick forced his way into her residence and stole her property. After further investigation, Minnick was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and posted a $2,500 unsecured personal bond. ARRESTED: Jacob Charles Minnick AGE: 43 Cumberland, MD CHARGES: Burglary-1st Degree, Burglary-4th Degree Theft, Assault-2nd Degree, Theft less than $100

**Criminal Summons Served**

On June 18, 2026, Cumberland Police Department officers served Whitley Wright with a criminal summons related to assault charges.

The charges were filed with the Allegany County District Court Commissioner's Office following an investigation into an alleged assault at a residence in the 400 Block of Arch Street. During the investigation, officers interviewed a victim who reported that Wright assaulted them and caused injuries.

Based on the investigation's findings, the Cumberland Police Department filed for charges at the Allegany County District Court Commissioner's Office, and a criminal summons was issued. Wright signed for her copy of the summons and was released pending trial.

Charges: Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Reckless Endangerment

**Adult Arrest**

On June 18, 2026, an officer with the Cumberland Police Department was patrolling the area of East Industrial Boulevard and Springdale Street when he observed a male walking on railroad tracks on CSX property.

The officer contacted the male, who identified himself as "Aaron Smith". During the encounter, the subject fled on foot near Queen Street. The officer initiated a brief foot pursuit. During the pursuit, the subject attempted to ingest a suspected controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and was found possessing suspected CDS paraphernalia.

The individual was later positively identified as Zachary Stewart and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center for his initial appearance.

Arrest: Zachary Patrick Stewart, Age 39, Cumberland, MD

Charges: Trespassing on Railroad Property, Obstructing & Hindering, Altering Physical Evidence, Fraudulent Identification to Avoid Prosecution, CDS Possession of Paraphernalia

*Trespassing Arrest**

On June 18, 2026, officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to a trespassing complaint on Grand Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located Jason Lynn Winfield on the property posted with a "No Trespassing" sign. Officers arrested Winfield and issued him a citation for trespassing- posted property. He was then released pending trial at District Court.

Arrest: Jason Lynn Winfield, Age 44, Cumberland, MD

Charge: Trespassing on Posted Property
