The Cumberland Police Department is asking the public for assistance in locating a missing juvenile. Aurora June Donahue, 14, W/F, blond hair, brown eyes, was last seen in the area of Williams Rd and Willowbrook Rd, Cumberland, MD. She was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and black sweatpants. Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Department at 301-777-1600 or contact our page. Callers may remain anonymous.

HANDGUN CHARGES

On Saturday, August 29, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of Canal Street for a report of a gunshot. Upon their arrival, officers were able to locate the suspects in the area. Che Howard Jr was identified on scene, and through an investigation, a handgun was located. It was learned that the subjects had fired the handgun into the water of the Potomac River. An application for charges was submitted, and a warrant was issued for Howard. On Sunday, August 30, 2026, Howard was located, placed under arrest, and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center, where he was held without bond pending his trial.

ARRESTED: Che' Anthony Howard Jr., 18, Cumberland, MD.
CHARGES: Unlawful Firearm Possession, Alter Firearm Serial Number, Handgun on Person, Loaded Handgun on Person, Reckless Engagement, Disorderly Conduct.

VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER

On Monday, August 31, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 900 Block of Harding Avenue for the report of a male violating a court order. Upon arrival, officers located Nicolas Davies outside of a residence where he was prohibited from being. Once the order was confirmed to be active, Davies was then placed under arrest and taken to the Allegany County Detention Center, where he awaits his initial appearance.

LITTERING

On Saturday, August 29, 2026, Cumberland Police Department officers were on patrol in the area of Baltimore Street when they observed a female sleeping amongst a pile of her belongings and other refuse. Officers were able to identify the female as Natasha Groves. She was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. Groves was released on citations for littering and a nuisance violation for camping, pending her trial.

HARRASSMENT
On Friday, August 28, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Jenny Trapp. The summons was issued after multiple harassment complaints were reported and an application for charges was submitted. Trapp was located, served with the summons, and released pending her trial.

ARRESTED: Jenny Lynette Trapp, 45, Cumberland, MD.
CHARGES: Trespassing Private Property, Harassment.

THEFT
On Friday, August 28, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Anthony Talbert. The summons was issued after Talbert was observed taking a bicycle from a public park.
An application for charges was submitted, which yielded a summons. Talbert was located, served with the summons, and released pending his trial.

ARRESTED: Anthony Clayton Talbert Sr., 45, Cumberland, MD.
CHARGE: Theft Less than $1,500.

ASSAULT
On Friday, August 28, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 400 Block of Virginia Avenue for a report of an assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim, who advised he was in an argument with Lillian Wagner that had turned physical. Officers were able to observe injuries on the victim's person. They then traveled to the residence where the assault had occurred in the 400 block of Grand Avenue to search for Wagner, with negative results. An application for charges was completed, which yielded the summons. Wagner was located, served with the summons, and released pending her trial.

ARRESTED: Lillian Amzy Wagner, 33, Cumberland, MD.
CHARGE: Assault Second Degree.

FAILURE TO APPEAR/VIOLATION OF PROBATION
On Friday, August 28, 2026, Cumberland Police Department officers were on patrol in the area of Bridge Street when they observed Ivan Valentin, who had an active arrest warrant. The warrant was issued after Valentin failed to appear in court in a littering case. A search of his person incident to arrest yielded controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia. An additional warrant through Mineral County, West Virginia, was located for Valentin. He was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center pending extradition.

ARRESTED: Ivan Candelaria Valentin, 40, Cumberland, MD.
CHARGES: Failure to Appear (Littering), CDS Paraphernalia Possession, Violation of Probation (Fugitive, West Virginia).

FAILURE TO APPEAR
On Friday, August 28, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department served two bench warrants on Charlena Rodriguez. The warrants were issued as a result of Rodriguez's failure to appear in court on August 5, 2026, in separate cases involving theft and paraphernalia possession. Rodriguez was taken before a district court commissioner, where she was released on a $500 unsecured bond pending her trial.

**Two New Officers. One Proud Department.**

The Cumberland Police Department is proud to congratulate **Thysen Beard and Jacob Wilson** on graduating from the MD Police & Correctional Training Commissions's Police Entrance Level Class #40!

Both graduates also received some well-earned recognition:
**Thysen Beard** received the Esprit De Corps Award, recognizing his teamwork, leadership, and commitment to his fellow recruits.
**Jacob Wilson** earned TWO awards — Defensive Tactics and Top Gun!

During the graduation ceremony, Thysen was pinned by Cumberland Police Chief James Pyles, officially welcoming him into the next chapter of his law enforcement career.

Jacob’s pinning was a special family moment. He was pinned by his father, Aaron Wilson, a Detective Sergeant with the Department of Corrections.

The academy takes dedication, discipline, long days, and plenty of hard work. Thysen and Jacob put in the work, and now they’re ready for what comes next.

TRESPASSING
On Thursday, August 27, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 60 block of Marion Street regarding a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival, officers observed that the structure had been posted "unfit for human habitation" by the City of Cumberland. Upon checking the structure, officers found a subject inside, lying in a bed. As a result, Jessica Dawn Spataro, 35, of Cumberland, MD, was arrested and transported to Police Headquarters. She was issued a Criminal Citation for trespassing and released, pending trial in District Court.
ARRESTED – Jessica Dawn Spataro, 35yo.
CHARGES - Trespass-Posted Property.

CDS
On Thursday, August 27, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of Maryland Avenue and Baker Street regarding a disturbance involving a male subject. Upon arrival, officers observed a male subject walking from the area who matched the description of the alleged suspect. As officers contacted the male, he was observed to remove items from his pockets and throw them onto the ground. Upon further inspection, officers discovered the items to be suspected fentanyl and CDS paraphernalia. As a result, Dillen Allen Smith, 32, of Flintstone, MD, was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters. He was issued Criminal Citations for possession of CDS and littering and released, pending trial in District Court.

TRESPASSING
On August 26, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Todd Jones. The summons resulted from an incident that occurred on August 8, 2026, at a business located in the 400 block of Virginia Avenue. Officers responded to the business for a disturbance. Mr. Jones had been told to leave after creating the disturbance and returned shortly thereafter. When Jones returned, he created another disturbance and attempted to throw chips into an individual's vehicle. Jones signed for his copy of the summons and was released pending trial in District Court.
