WEEKEND ARRESTS:
BENCH WARRANT SERVED
On Saturday June 20, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Jessica Lynn Michels for failure to appear in court. She was originally charged with two counts of failure to send child to school. She was later seen by a District Court Commissioner for initial appearance and released on her personal recognizance. ASSAULT ARREST
On Sunday June 21, 2026 at approximately 12:03 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence on the 200 block of Bond St. to investigate a reported domestic assault. Officers contacted the alleged victim. The alleged victim had visible injuries and reported being assaulted by Samantha Nelson. Nelson was located inside the residence. While effecting an arrest on Nelson; she actively resisted. After a brief struggle Nelson was taken into custody and transported to Central Booking. Nelson is currently in detention at the Allegany County Detention Center waiting to be seen by a District Court Commissioner for initial appearance. CRIMINAL SUMMONS SERVED
On Friday, June 19, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Tiffany Reuschel. The summons was issued as the result of a private citizen filing charges against Reuschel at the District Court of Allegany County. She was released pending trial. BURGLARY ARREST
On Friday, June 19, 2026 at approximately 10:17 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 200 block of Paca Street for an assault. Police arrived and contacted the alleged victim who reported that Jacob Minnick forced his way into her residence and stole her property. After further investigation, Minnick was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and posted a $2,500 unsecured personal bond.
