💜 Volunteer Spotlight: Hunt 💜

We’re excited to highlight Hunt for their commitment to giving back and supporting the community. Last month, their team spent time volunteering at Pauline’s, helping make a meaningful impact through hands-on service.

Partnerships like this reflect the power of community coming together to support and uplift others, and we’re so grateful for volunteers who show up with purpose and heart.

Thank you, Hunt, for being a part of the Our Friends Place community and for making a difference beyond our walls. 💫

💜 DOUBLE Your Impact Today: https://www.ourfriendsplace.org/summer

This summer, many young people lose access to the support and stability they rely on during the school year. For youth across North Texas, it can be one of the most vulnerable times of the year.

Through the Strong Women SOAR Summer Campaign, Our Friends Place continues providing mentorship, resources, and support to young women working toward independence.

✨ Every donation is matched 1:1 — doubling your impact for young women in need.

Together, we can make this a summer of safety, support, and opportunity. 💜

🎉Board Member Spotlight: Rob Olson🎉

We’re proud to celebrate longtime board member and Property Committee Chair, Rob, whose dedication to Our Friends Place continues to make a lasting impact.

In honor of his 70th birthday, Rob turned his celebration into something truly meaningful, bringing together friends, community, and purpose in support of OFP. The evening included heartfelt remarks, a special video, and a performance by the OFP Jazz Cats, with all gifts directed back to Our Friends Place.

Because of his generosity and leadership, more than $10,000 was raised to support the young women we serve.

Rob has given his time, talent, and treasure to OFP in so many ways, and we are incredibly grateful for the difference he continues to make in our community. 💜

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice allows us the freedom to build stronger communities and brighter futures.

As we reflect, we also hold space for gratitude, remembrance, and the importance of coming together to support one another.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day. 💙

At Our Friends Place, our team's passion for making a difference goes far beyond the work they do each day. Many also dedicate their time and energy to causes that are deeply personal to them.

Amy has dedicated the past six years to volunteering with the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, serving in peer support and community engagement roles ranging from the Never Too Young Task Force to Dallas Walk Co-Chair and Peer-to-Peer Buddy for individuals currently in treatment.

Her passion for this work comes from a desire to help destigmatize colorectal cancer and advocate for equitable access to screening and treatment. Colorectal cancer is one of the deadliest cancers affecting young people, yet it is highly treatable when caught early. Amy continues using her voice, time, and advocacy to help spread awareness and encourage early detection because colonoscopies truly save lives.

Together, our team reflects the heart of OFP by showing up, giving back, and making a difference wherever they are. 💫

Impact Report 2025: SOAR to Success 💜

Behind every number is a young person gaining confidence, a new skill being learned, and a future beginning to take shape.

Through SOAR Discovery, over 1,200 high school students were given the opportunity to build life skills and connect with mentors who believe in their potential. In Youth Workshops, nearly 1,000 young people took part in hands-on learning experiences designed to equip them with tools for independence. And through Adult Allies, more than 100 adults were trained to recognize and support youth at risk of homelessness, expanding the circle of care in our community.

In total, these programs represent more than 2,000 hours of meaningful impact, all centered on one goal: preventing homelessness before it begins and helping young people build strong, stable futures.

This is what prevention looks like in action. 💫

💚 Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

Mental health is a vital part of overall well-being, and at Our Friends Place, we see every day how access to support, stability, and community can make a meaningful difference.

For the young women we serve, having a safe place to land and the tools to navigate life’s challenges is essential to healing, growth, and independence.

This month and every month, we’re committed to creating spaces where mental health is prioritized, conversations are encouraged, and no one has to navigate their journey alone.

✨ Alumni Success Story: Kat ✨

At Our Friends Place, every young woman’s journey is unique, but each story reflects the power of stability, support, and opportunity.

After moving through a series of foster homes, Kat came to Our Friends Place searching for something she had not yet experienced, a place where she could truly be herself. From the beginning, she was encouraged to see OFP not just as a place to stay, but as a home she could shape and make her own.

Through her time at OFP, Kat began to shift her mindset, finding strength, confidence, and a sense of control over her future. With the support and stability she found, she was able to build a new path forward.

Today, Kat works in biomedical research, is finishing her degree in Animal Science, and is building a life filled with purpose, family, and joy. She is married, a mother, and embracing a future she once only hoped for.

Her story is a powerful reminder that when young women are given the support they need, they can build bright, independent futures. 💜
