So I've called twice, but nothing. The water fountain at Norbuck has been flooding the parking lot for 16 days. Now that it's freezing, maybe something can be done so no one wipes out on the ice skating rink? Someone will get hurt because the parking lot is under water all the way across. Office of Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson Dallascityhall
This park is not on google maps and sign is not on Cockrell hill rd 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Will there be flu shots at the Juanita Craft locations this year??
Dallas Police Department Dallascityhall Office of Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson Steve Noviello Help Steve Noviello! Every week day, dallas parks sends out White Rock Lake parks employees in the dark and they sit on their mowers or simply drive around until it gets light. TWO hours wasted when DPD is cutting overtime. I have complained-even last Friday was promised they'd fix it. THEN this morning we see two Dallas Parks trucks driving 15mph up and down Mockingbird at 530AM, then cruise the west side of the lake IN THE DARK.STOP wasting taxpayer money-people are being laid off. Parks knows about this and then they 'adjust' from cruising the east side of the lake in the dark to the west side. MONDAY THRU FRIDAY.
Why are our tax dollars being wasted with the mowers leaving the White Rock Sunset Bay facility at 515AM, driving 1/2 mile and sitting by the lake WITH THE ENGINES IDLING, waiting for it to be light enough to mow? Seriously, do you think people don't notice this? Your own people are being laid off, police are being cut, yet you let people go out and SIT for two hours? RIDICULOUS, AND THIS WAS TODAY. Office of Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson Dallas Police Department Dallas Park and Recreation Department Paula Blackmon for Dallas City Council
And another video.
Here are the videos of the poison oak along White Rock Lake Trail.
The White Rock Lake Trails (Sopac, White Rock Creek, White Rock Lake, and Santa Fe) should be the crown jewels of Dallas. However, White Rock Creek Trail is being overtaken by huge masses of poison oak. The trail is narrow and is cracked along the side. In other parts, there is a sheer drop off to the surrounding dirt (which is usually filled with poison oak). Underneath the US 75 section, there is a permanent encampment with tents, chairs, etc. I personally don't have a problem with the encampment, but they let their trash be strewn over the bicycle trail - which creates a safety hazard. I am not sure about pre-COVID-19, but now all the trails are heavily used (especially in the morning). There is a section of the Cottonwood Trial where it appears to have another encampment. I know that COVID-19 has reduced available city budgets, but since a lot of people are using the outdoors as their only recreation, it would be money well spent. Check out the condition of the trials with the pictures. I will post a couple of videos showing the overgrown poison oak.
Over the last several weeks I've noticed something very unusual along the more forested parts of urban bicycling-walking paths in Dallas. I usually ride on the Northaven Trail and sometimes alternate to SoPac; Santa Fe; Katy; and the White Rock Creek Trail. As I ride the White Rock Creek Trail every week I've begun to see more and more camp sites set up near the creek, well-outfitted with high-end tents and camping gear. These camp sites are not clustered, and they do not occur near pan-handler camping areas. Some of these camp sites have been there for several weeks. Yesterday I even found an SUV camper secluded under the Skillman Road bridge, downstream from the Fair Oaks Tennis Area. How he got there I have no idea, other than by jumping curbs and wending his way through underbrush. Another campsite is under the deep, wide overpass of Central Expressway. A third campsite sprung up this week at the edge of a forested meadow across from Medical City Hospital. Has anyone else observed anything unusual going on? Who are these people, and what is their purpose?
Is anyone going to drive (what a half mile?) to the sign on East Lawther and turn off the sign that says 'defund DPD'? TODAY? @paulablackmon Paula Blackmon Dallas Police Department Dallas Police Headquarters
Bridge issues at Trinity River show failed integral support. Bridge signed off in 2012 by Trinity Watershed Management. Be sure to tell peeps to NOT cross this bridge on the Trinity.
how about asking the kayak rental on WRL to stop parking their trailer in the middle of the boat ramp, it would severely inhibit the FD from launching their boats in an orderly manner
