Incident Summary – Tree on Structure
At approximately 5:55 PM on July 3, the Decatur Fire Department was dispatched to the 200 block of Five Point Road for a report of a tree that had fallen onto a residence.
Upon arrival, the first-arriving engine company found a large tree resting on the rear corner of the home, with several limbs protruding into the structure and causing damage. Fire personnel assessed the scene, safely removed the portions of the tree that posed an immediate hazard, and secured the damaged area by placing a tarp over the affected section of the roof to help protect the residence from further weather-related damage.
Once the scene was stabilized and the immediate hazards were mitigated, crews cleared the incident and returned to service.
