The virtual public meeting originally scheduled for Thursday, September 3rd was cancelled due to the severe storms and power outages. The meeting has been rescheduled for Wednesday, September 9th at 6:00pm.

This meeting is to discuss the road construction project at Alpine St., the parking alley behind Main Street, 3rd Street and 4th Street. City staff and engineering consultants will be in attendance to answer questions. The meeting can be accessed at:

Power's still out for a lot of us this morning after last night's storms-help is here!

Washtenaw County Mobile Support Services and DTE have set up at City Hall (3515 Broad Street) and they'll be here until 5pm today handing out water, phone charging banks, flashlights, and lanterns to anyone who needs them.

No paperwork, no appointment- just stop by. If you're without power and need to charge a phone or grab some supplies to get through the next day or two, come on down.

The City's Department of Public Works will begin making rounds with the woodchipper on Tuesday, September 8th to remove tree limbs and large branches set to the side of the road by residents.

All limbs and large branches should be stacked neatly at the curb with but-ends facing the same direction. Piles are limited to 10 feet in length. Individual limbs may not exceed 4 inches in diameter at base, 2 inches at leafy end. Limbs smaller than 1 inch, loose leaves, and decorative grasses and other plants must be bagged.

The Washtenaw County's Mobile Services Bus will be at Dexter City Hall, located at 3515 Broad Street, at 11:30 a.m. passing out water, charging kits, and other supplies for residents without power.

The farmers' market pavilion suffered some damage in the storm. While we wait for repairs-the City of Dexter Farmers Market continues at Monument Park tomorrow morning!

Postponement of Fall Road Program Virtual Meeting

Due to the severe storm earlier today that has left many residents without power, the City has postponed tonight's virtual road meeting that was originally planned to begin at 6:00pm. The City's Department of Public Works is prioritizing the response to today's severe storm.

Once a new date has been determined, the new date, time, and meeting link will be released via the City's email update and Facebook.

City of Dexter Storm Response

The City is aware that many residents/businesses are without power and that a number of trees and large tree limbs have fallen during the storm earlier today. The City's Department of Public Works is actively working to clean up storm debris that has fallen into City roadways and sidewalks. The City expects the clean-up to take place over the next several days. If residents experience down lines, please report them DTE Energy: https://outage.dteenergy.com/

In an upcoming email update, the City will announce a date where the DPW will be going around the City to chip fallen limbs from this storm. Due to the initial clean-up being expected to take a couple of days, this chipping will likely occur next week. Like our normal wood chipping, branches and limbs should be placed near the curb, not in the roadway.

We greatly appreciate that community's patience as we get our roadways, sidewalks, and green spaces cleared of storm debris!

To ensure receipt by September 15, 2026 at 5 pm: Property Tax payments can be dropped off to City Hall, 3515 Broad St. on weekdays between 9 am and 5 pm, or placed into the drop box located in front of City Hall. If you have not mailed your payment yet, we strongly suggest dropping it off due to the time it can take for the mail to be processed and delivered by the post office.
