Big smiles and vital safety tips at the Dexter Senior Center today! 👵👴🚒
​Firefighter Valentine had a wonderful time representing DAFD at today's resource fair. He was on hand passing out our magnetic emergency medical forms—which stick right to your refrigerator so our crews can find your medical history instantly during a crisis when seconds count.
​He also walked residents through our Community Connect program. It’s a simple, secure way to give our first responders a heads-up about your household's specific needs before we ever dispatch to your address.

An incredible Field Day in the books! 🚒⚓️
​Firefighters Jessop and Jackson spent the day making new friends at the D.E.E.C. (Anchor & Beacon). From cooling off in the water to learning how to spray the big hose, everyone brought their A-game.

Bringing the ultimate cooldown to Creekside! 🚒💦
​Firefighters Penn, Schloss, and Valentine had a blast helping the kids kick off summer the right way today. It turns out our fire trucks are just as good for epic, one-sided water fights as they are for firefighting!
​We truly love any opportunity to hang out, laugh, and bond with our community. Thank you so much to the amazing Creekside staff for organizing this for everyone! ☀️❤️

Last night, our crew took on the "Blind Grid" challenge. We scattered disassembled SCBA components—harnesses, cylinders, and masks—across a cone field. The catch? Our firefighters had to navigate the grid and fully assemble their gear while completely blacked out.
​In a structure fire, vision is often the first thing you lose. Drills like this build the muscle memory needed to stay calm, find your equipment, and get "on air" when every second counts.
