🇺🇸🚒 A Little Early Morning Ladder Training

While returning from a call this morning, our crew noticed several American flags had gotten wrapped around their poles in the wind.

So, they stopped and took the opportunity to straighten them out while getting in a little impromptu ladder training at the same time.

Not every training opportunity has to be planned. Sometimes you just see something that needs done, grab a ladder, and get to work.

Flags fixed. Ladders thrown. Back in service. 🇺🇸

🚨 1:15 PM UPDATE: INCIDENT TERMINATED

The gas line incident in the 900 block of 16th Ave E has been resolved and the incident has been terminated.

The evacuation of the 900 blocks of 16th Ave E and 17th Ave E has been lifted, and residents may return to their homes.

Thank you to everyone in the area for your patience and cooperation while crews worked to safely resolve the incident.

🚨 ACTIVE INCIDENT: GAS LINE STRUCK

Dickinson Fire crews are currently on scene of a struck gas line in the 900 block of 16th Ave E.

As a precaution, we have evacuated the 900 blocks of 16th Ave E and 17th Ave E.

Please avoid the area and allow emergency crews room to work. Residents who have been evacuated should remain out of the area until emergency personnel advise that it is safe to return.

We will provide additional updates as they become available.

🚑 EMT-B COURSE STARTING SEPTEMBER 22!

We’re excited to offer a 12-week EMT-B course starting September 22nd and finishing before the holidays! 🎄🙌
If you’ve been thinking about getting your EMT certification, now’s your chance.

📚 COURSE SETUP
• 12-week hybrid course
• Majority of coursework completed online
• In-person class Tuesdays from 5:30–8:30 PM, with three Monday classes during the course
• One Saturday per month from 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
• Hands-on skills and scenarios
• Ambulance ride-alongs

🎓 Successful completion will prepare students to take the NREMT EMT examination and pursue National Registry and North Dakota EMT credentials.

💰 Cost: $1,400
Book and testing fees are additional.

🇺🇸🚒 Investing in the Future of Public Safety

Yesterday, we had the honor of helping welcome U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon to the Southwest Area CTE Academy, along with state and federal leaders, education officials, and community leaders.

We also had the privilege of participating in a roundtable discussion where we were able to highlight our partnership with SWCTE and, more importantly, the impact that partnership is having on students.

Through SWCTE and Dickinson Fire, high school students have the opportunity to take Fire and EMS courses, earn industry-recognized certifications, gain hands-on experience, and explore careers in public safety before they ever graduate high school.

These partnerships are about more than classes. They create pathways into careers our communities depend on and help build the next generation of firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and public safety professionals right here in western North Dakota.

We’re proud of what this partnership has accomplished and excited about where it’s headed. 🚒🚑

❤️⚡ Every firefighter can recognize the basics.

Then there are the paramedics…

Somehow they look at a bunch of squiggly lines and casually say, “Looks like a second-degree Type II with a left bundle branch block.”

The rest of us just nod and pretend we knew that too. 😅

All jokes aside, interpreting cardiac rhythms is a skill that takes hundreds of hours of education, training, and experience. It’s one of the many reasons paramedics are able to provide advanced, lifesaving care before a patient ever reaches the hospital.

We’re glad they’re on our team. 🚑❤️

🚒📚 This weekend, Dickinson Fire crews are in the Capital City attending the Prairie Fire Conference, continuing to sharpen their knowledge and skills.

From hands-on training to classroom sessions, the opportunity to learn from some of the best instructors in the fire service is invaluable. Just as important are the conversations, networking, and sharing of ideas with firefighters from across the region.

The fire service is constantly evolving, and we’re committed to bringing that knowledge back to Dickinson to better serve our community.

The training, networking, and fellowship have been second to none. 🔥

💧⚡ A huge thank you to DrinkLMNT and the community member who nominated Dickinson Fire through the “Give A Salt” initiative!

🚒 Training doesn’t stop when the tones are quiet.

While our crews were out training on hose deployment and fire attack in hotel occupancies, they had the chance to run into the band The Fray.

Not exactly part of the training plan… but we’ll take it. 😄

Every day is a little different, and this one came with an unexpected photo opportunity.
