Although some may have seen some light rain showers this weekend, Fannin County is still under a BURN BAN!

This week is starting off with some extremely high fire danger forecasts. With these kinds of conditions the smallest spark can cause some serious trouble. If you see any kind of outdoor fire please don’t hesitate to call it in! The sooner a Fire Department can get to it the less destruction to be caused!

Today is National Volunteer Firefighters Recognition Day!🚒

Across Texas, volunteer firefighters dedicate their time and skills to serving their neighbors and strengthening the communities they call home.

We have the privilege of working alongside and providing assistance to volunteer fire departments across the state and we see firsthand the vital role these firefighters fill in protecting Texas.

Today, we celebrate all of Texas’ volunteer firefighters. Thank you for everything you do for your communities.

We would like to take a second and congratulate Jade Horton on passing his National Registry and becoming a certified Paramedic!

For those that don’t know this is a year long course and is far from easy. Several hours of class, clinicals, studying and staying committed to make this happen.

This will make our 3rd Paramedic on Dodd City VFD and we are very thankful for him and all the others that answer the call in the time of need!

📢 ATTENTION DODD CITY WATER CUSTOMERS 📢

We want to remind everyone that essential maintenance is still underway on our elevated storage tank and ground storage tank.

To ensure we maintain a safe and steady supply for everyone during this time, we are asking all residents to please continue conserving water.

Easy ways you can help right now:

🚫 Turn off automatic lawn sprinklers.

🧼 Delay washing cars or pressure washing.

🧺 Only run full loads of laundry and dishes.

⏱️ Keep showers short.

Thank you for your continued patience, cooperation, and community effort as we complete these vital infrastructure upgrades! We will keep you updated on our progress. 💧

💧REMINDER💧

Starting tomorrow 7/13/26, the City of Dodd City will be operating on a very limited water supply. This means we will not be able to fill the fire trucks in town. To help us and the community out PLEASE no outdoor burning while this is taking place. The restoration process could take up to 2 weeks. We will keep everyone updated as we receive information. In the event of an emergency, we still do have a plan in place to be able to carry out fire fighting operations.

All we can say is THANK YOU to everyone that had a part in yesterday, from the sponsors, donations for silent auction items, homemade deserts, the cooks, the judges and most importantly the community for showing up and showing out despite the bad weather! Without all of these things coming together this event would’ve never been possible!

This was the 5th year doing this fundraiser and by far the biggest year yet! We had 17 teams enter in the cook off, and sold out if 10 briskets and all the fixings at the concession stand! Thank you to everyone for making that happen!

In the competition, this was the first year of doing cash payouts and we are more than thankful for our Grand Champion Brad Coonrod at Edge Aviation to donate back all of his winnings, which totaled up to $1,500!

We already cant wait for next year! Once again THANK YOU to everyone that played a part in this!!
