🚨 FRAUD ALERT: Fake "Idaho District Court" Text Scam🚨

Scammers are sending text messages claiming to be a "Traffic Violation Summons" from the "Idaho District Court."

These messages use intimidation—including threats of immediate arrest warrants and driver’s license suspensions—to trick victims into clicking malicious links or sending money to fraudulent accounts.

How the Scam Works:

The message appears professional, citing specific badge IDs and names like "Sergeant Michael Turner" or "Judge Lisa Grant."

It threatens that failure to pay "unpaid traffic fines" will result in a bench warrant, vehicle impoundment, and wage garnishment.

The trap is a "Resolve Now" link that directs you to a fake payment portal designed to steal your credit card and personal information.

_______________________________

⚠️ Red Flags to Watch For:
Communication Method: The Idaho Judicial Branch and the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) never send official summons, warrants, or legal notices via text message.

Suspicious Links: Official Idaho government websites will always end in .gov. If a link ends in .org, .com, or any other extension, it is a scam.

Immediate Threats: State courts do not use text messages to threaten you with immediate arrest or license suspension for delinquent payments.

Payment Demands: Government agencies will never ask for payment via cryptocurrency, wire transfer, or retail gift cards.

Verify Securely: If you are concerned about an actual outstanding ticket, check the official Idaho iCourt portal or call the Teton County Courts directly at (208) 776-8210.

Report It: Help protect your neighbors by reporting the scam at ReportScamsIdaho.com.

Remember: Idaho courts will not communicate with you through a text message link.
