Meet me in the plaza, the front of the City Center building (60 N Main St), at 1pm on Wednesday, August 26. We will walk and talk for about 2 hours around Driggs. ROAD WORK NOTICE: The City of Driggs is chip sealing roads on 8/19 (weather depending). This project will protect and extend the life of our roads, along with reducing maintenance costs. The project consists of spreading a thin layer of asphalt oil followed by a thin layer of crushed rock. This seals the asphalt and provides traction. The next day and periodically afterward City staff will be sweeping the loose, excess rock off the roadway. Please drive slow on these roads until they are well swept.

The roads highlighted below will be closed at various times on 8/19 for this project. Please have vehicles moved off the road as NO ON-STREET PARKING is allowed on these days. Please notify your tenants, customers, and employees. Thank you for your patience and please thank the crews working to maintain and improve your roads.

"Do you know what INL is? Do you know what happens there? Idaho National Laboratory is a place where various types of energy are produced and tested including nuclear energy. I didn’t know much until I was included on a tour of INL recently. I would like you to have this opportunity too. I asked them to come and share on August 19 at 6pm in the Senior Center. Do you wonder what happens to the nuclear waste? Can we get sick from it? This will be a safe place to ask uncomfortable questions (or anonymously!). There will also be a sign up sheet to take a bus from Driggs to tour the site on a future date. See you there!" - Mayor August Christensen
