At Community Action Duluth, the Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) plays a pivotal role in guiding families towards financial stability and self-sufficiency. Our dedicated MFIP Employment Counselors, like Elizabeth, are the cornerstone of this initiative, providing crucial support and resources to community members in the program.

Please join us, tomorrow, Tuesday July 21st from 3PM-6PM for our FREE Blood Lead Testing event at Community Action Duluth (2424 W 5th St). Everyone is welcome to come in and get their blood tested for possible lead poisoning. If you are unable to make it during this time, please call us at 218-726-1665 or send an email to [email protected] to set up an appointment.

If you are pregnant, or have children 0-6 years old, you are eligible for a $50 visa gift card per family if you come in and get their blood tested. If elevated levels of lead are detected in their blood, your home will qualify for free lead abatement services!

LEAD is a public health concern that affects everyone regardless of economic status, race, or gender. Community Action Duluth in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Health is committed to educate citizens, test children & pregnant people, and provide in-home lead remediation services.

At our most recent staff meeting, members of the Community Action Duluth staff were asked to reflect on the valuable work they do for the community. The Community Action Duluth staff was proud to volunteer and happy to celebrate with the Duluth Branch NAACP during their Juneteenth celebration this last Friday!

The Community Action Dultuh Office will be closed to the public tomorrow Friday June 5th. Our staff will be on-site attending a leadership training event. This training event will give our staff the necassary knowledge to continue to effectivly serve the community.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Block Party!

We here at Community Action Duluth beleive in the power of community to change lives and make our city a better place for everyone. It is events like this that bring us together and bring hope to our community.

This is the last event of our May Community Action Month celebrations and with that we want to send a big thank you to anyone who helped put together the many great events and everyone who just came out to celebrate. Thank you all so much!

This also means that our office will be starting its summer hours which are:

Fri: 8AM-12PM

We had such a great time and are so happy to be a part of this great community!
