On this Mission Monday, are you wondering what C/Sun’s role is? He’s the master of GLPs!
GLPs (group leadership problems) are designed to test cadets on their leadership skills when faced with challenging scenarios operating as a team. C/Sun’s has certainly challenged us thus far, and we can’t wait to see what he brings for the rest of the semester!

ALERT! We have another Ironman in the DET!

A few weeks ago, one of our cadets currently studying abroad, C/Sureshbabu, completed the Weymouth, UK Ironman 70.3. This extreme test of endurance and strength featured a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike, and a half marathon all back-to-back.

Congratulations to C/Sureshbabu!

What a great Expeditionary LLAB in the Duke Forest!

Expeditionary LLAB teaches our future offers how to operate in difficult environments. Today, Detachment 585 cadets learned the tactical movements involved in small team operations, base defense and Force Protection Conditions, Tactical Combat Casualty Care, and what it’s like to preparare and consume MREs.

Congrats to our cadets, and special thanks to all those who made it possible!

Congratulations to Technical Sergeant Tonkins on her reenlistment today, committing to four more years of service in the United States Air Force! Reenlistment represents more than signing on the dotted line—it is a renewed commitment to the Air Force mission, to fellow Airmen, and to the core values of Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do.
As an experienced NCO, TSgt Tonkins plays an important role in leading, mentoring, and setting the example for the next generation of Airmen. We are proud to celebrate this milestone with her and grateful that she has chosen to continue serving our nation. Please join Detachment 585 in congratulating TSgt Tonkins on another four years of service! 🎉✈️🇺🇸

This morning at Expeditionary LLAB, cadets had the opportunity to try MREs!

MREs (Meals, Ready-to-Eat) are often used in deployed environments where access to fresh food is limited. Today, our cadets learned the skills of preparing and eating MREs while gaining firsthand experience with a staple of military field operations.

From figuring out the flameless ration heaters to discovering which meals are worth trading for, cadets got a small taste of what meals can look like in an expeditionary environment.

Another morning of hands-on training at Detachment 585! 🇺🇸
