Looking for a fun summer activity that's both hands-on and educational?

Join us for Canning With Kids on July 15, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to noon!

Participants will learn the basics of safe home food preservation while making and taking home their own canned products. This class is designed for youth going into 6th grade and older and is a great opportunity to build kitchen skills, learn food preservation techniques, and have fun along the way.

Cost: $25 per participant
Includes: A recipe book to take home

UGA Extension – Elbert County is collecting new or gently used 2-, 3-, and 5-pound dumbbells to support our growing health and wellness programs.

These hand weights will be used in Extension classes and activities that help community members improve strength, balance, mobility, and overall wellness. As participation in our programs continues to grow, so does our need for equipment!

If you have a set of dumbbells collecting dust at home, consider donating them to help others stay active and healthy. Every donation—big or small—makes a difference.

We had a great group this morning for Pickleball for Wellness at McWilliams Park! It was a beautiful morning to get moving, enjoy some friendly competition, and spend time with others in our community.

If this looks like fun to you, we'd love to have you join us. Pickleball for Wellness meets every Friday at 8:00 a.m. at McWilliams Park. Whether you're brand new to the game or have been playing for years, all skill levels are welcome.

Come get in some exercise, meet new people, and start your Friday with a little fun on the courts!
