Our volunteers are the heart of this program. They help make it possible for older adults in our community to stay connected, supported, and independent.

Administrative Assistant- Sheriff’s Office
Dickey County is accepting applications for a full-time position as Administrative Assistant for the Dickey County Sheriff’s Office. This position is under the direct supervision of the Sheriff and directly interacts with the public, assisting with the day-to-day operations of the sheriff’s office. Some of the job duties include the teletype system, computer skills, operating a radio, filing, answering the phone, and relaying information for officers. Minimum requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent and valid ND driver's license. Hiring requirements include background checks, credit checks, and reference checks. This is to be a full-time (40hr/week) non-exempt position. Competitive salary based on experience with excellent benefits.

Oakes Community Center (Oakes Armory), 8:00 am to 7:00 pm
Ellendale Church of The Nazarene, 8:00 am to 7:00 pm (NOTICE CHANGE IN LOCATION)

May drop off absentee ballots until 7:00 pm in the drop box at the Dickey County Courthouse located near the elevator on the north side of the building or the Oakes Community Center.

We would like to thank Applied Digital for the grant funding to Dickey County.

From the Dickey County Park Board.
The grant money will reduce the financial burden of the county park board, enabling the purchase of highway tourism signs for the county parks in Dickey County. They will be placed on Highway 281 and Highway 11. Having signs visible on the highways is a great tool to improve use of our county parks while increasing visitors to shop in our county. Both Pheasant Lake and Wilson Dam have many things to offer, such as fishing, outdoor grilling, and picnic shelters.

The funding will be used to help in many aspects in finding victims of Amber Alerts and Silver Alerts. The system has the ability to help Emergency Services in providing information to be used for community alerts and notifications. It will aid in supplementing our responders with critical real-time information in aiding the response personnel to provide care.

The Dickey County Commission made a motion to close the offices at 4:00 PM tomorrow, May 6, 2026, due to the planned power shut-off by MDU. This may not affect us, but we are taking precautionary steps in case to ensure the safety of our equipment.

Those scammers really love us, huh? Be critical when you look at your texts or emails. Here are a few things we noticed at a quick glance. There are probably more we missed. Discrepancies like this tell you it's fake for sure!
