The Emerado Volunteer Fire Department extends our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and to our brothers and sisters of Belcourt Rural Fire Department Firefighter Jayton Slater, as well as to the family and loved ones of Kelly Davis.

Today, we join the fire community in mourning. The fire service is a family, and when one department hurts, we all hurt alongside them.

Rest easy FF Slater, and Kelly Davis. Your service and memories will never be forgotten

🇺🇸 Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Today, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and selflessness secured the freedoms we are privileged to live with every day.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is a time of remembrance for those who never returned home to their families, friends, and communities.

As firefighters, we understand the meaning of service and sacrifice, but today our gratitude belongs to those who gave everything for this nation.

Please join the Emerado Volunteer Fire Department in taking a moment to remember and honor our fallen heroes.

May we never forget their sacrifice.
May we always carry their memory with respect and gratitude.

We got some rain… and Mother Nature said, “that’s enough of that.” 😅

Despite the recent showers, we are back in HIGH fire danger. Those grasses dried out faster than your driveway after a car wash.

🔥 Before you strike that match, consider this:

* That “small burn pile” has big dreams of becoming a wildfire
* Wind + dry grass = instant regret
* Your garden hose is not as powerful as you think it is

✅ If you absolutely must burn:

* Keep it small (like “won’t make the evening news” small)
* Stay with it the whole time
* Have water and tools ready to go
* Make sure it’s DEAD OUT before you leave (not “looks out”… actually out)

🚒 We’d much rather wave at you in town than meet you in your backyard at full sirens.

When in doubt… don’t burn. Your local fire department will thank you.

The City of Emerado has planned a water system repair that will take place on Tuesday, May 19, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The work will focus on replacing a critical valve that regulates pressure throughout the city’s water distribution system.

This valve plays a vital role in maintaining consistent water pressure for homes, businesses, and emergency services. When functioning properly, it ensures that water is delivered safely and efficiently across the system. A failure or malfunction of this component can lead to pressure fluctuations, potential damage to infrastructure, and reduced reliability of water service. Completing this repair is essential to improving and maintaining the integrity and safety of Emerado’s water system.

To safely complete the repair, the city will need to shut off the water supply during the work. Residents should plan for the water system to be off until no earlier than approximately 6:00 p.m. that evening. However, this timeline is not guaranteed, and the outage could extend longer depending on the complexity of the repair.

We encourage residents to prepare in advance by storing adequate water for drinking, cooking, and sanitation needs. We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation as crews work to complete this important infrastructure improvement.

We know… we sound like a broken record 😅

🚨 “Red Flag Warning… again.” 🚨

But seriously—everything is dry enough to ignite if you look at it wrong. Please hold off on burning, bonfires, and anything that throws sparks.

Let’s not turn “just a little fire” into “why is there a helicopter over my house?” 🔥🚁

🚨🔥 Another Red Flag Warning Alert 🔥🚨

Mother Nature has once again just set everything to “extra crispy” mode…

No burning. No bonfires. No “it’ll be fine” fires.
Even your grill is side-eyeing you today. 👀

If it sparks, smokes, or makes you say “hold my beer”… today is NOT the day. 🔥

🚨🔥 RED FLAG WARNING 🔥🚨

It’s hot, dry, and windy… basically nature’s way of saying: “don’t you dare light that.”

🚫 NO BURNING. NOT EVEN A LITTLE.

One spark today = instant wildfire.

Save the bonfire for another day—your fire department will thank you. 🚒
