🔥Currently Accepting Applications🔥

We're looking for several dedicated men who would love to join our ranks as volunteer firemen! We are accepting applications until August 31, 2026 with agility test and interviews scheduled for September 19th.

• must be 20-45 years old and a US citizen
• must live within Berne Fire Dept coverage (from County Road 300 S to 800 S, and from the Adams/Wells county line to the Ohio state line)
• must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• must be able to pass background checks
• must be able to complete a physical agility test consisting of tasks that may be used on fire runs

HOW TO GET AN APPLICATION:
• visit Berne City Hall (Monday-Friday 8AM-4PM)
• leave a message at the Berne Fire Department (260-589-8735)
• or contact one of our firemen
