6:15 A.M. After lingering showers and storms exit the region by mid morning, the rest of today will be dry, with less humid air working into the region.

We bring back the humidity on Saturday which leads to additional thunderstorm chances, some of which may be severe. Heavy rainfall may also lead to flash flooding concerns in some areas.

TODAY -> will be another hot and humid day across our region with peak heat index readings exceeding 100 in many areas. It will also be quite breezy with southwest winds gusting 20 to 30 mph. A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect for our larger lakes from 10 AM to 8 PM.

A line of showers and storms will make passage across our region later this evening into the overnight. While the storms should have a general weakening trend as they sink southeast into our area, a few severe storms are still possible with damaging winds the greatest threat.

After a cooler and less humid day on Friday, the humidity returns on Saturday along with the potential for additional showers and storms. Another surge of cooler and less humid air is expected early next week. See less
