Great turnout at Traveling City Hall last night!

Roads were the hot topic, with updates from our City Engineer on current road conditions, funding needs, upcoming paving projects, and the planned roundabout at Cross Pointe. We also talked about stormwater improvements and creating more opportunities for small and mid-sized businesses to work with the City.

I appreciate these opportunities to connect with residents, answer your questions, and provide real-time solutions whenever we can. Thanks to everyone who came out.

I’m pleased to announce that Gabrielle Miller has joined the Mayor’s Office as our new Community Affairs & Special Projects Director.

Gabrielle earned a Bachelor of Science in International Community Development with a specialization in Public and Global Health from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Master of Arts in Global Development and Social Justice from Multnomah University. She brings more than a decade of experience working with neighborhoods, nonprofits, schools, and families, and she'll play an important role in helping our administration stay connected to the people we serve.

Miller has also collaborated with various cross-cultural interfaith organizations around the world, including Christian Fellowship Church, Agape Life Church, God’s House, and other international ministry partners.

Proud to see this partnership come to life! This pilot program will provide free METS bus service to disabled veterans through Patriot Passes, an idea that started with feedback from a resident at one of our Traveling City Hall meetings.

What a great way to start the day!

Thank you to the YMCA of Southwestern IN for partnering with us for today’s Mile with the Mayor at the State Hospital Grounds, and thanks to everyone who came out.

We got some steps in, met a few new neighbors, and had good conversations about everything from street maintenance to ideas for improving our community.

My team was glad to support today’s Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Diaper Drive.

The Care Mobile provides prenatal care and support for moms who need a little extra help during pregnancy and after their baby is born.

They’re at the Goodwill Center parking lot until 2 p.m. if you’d like to stop by and donate diapers.

We’ve been busy behind the scenes preparing the 2027 budget.

So far, we’ve completed 15 departmental budget meetings, with several more to go. These conversations help us take a close look at each department’s needs, priorities, and goals for the coming year.

I’ll present my proposed 2027 budget to City Council on September 15 at 3:00 p.m. After that, the public will have opportunities to share feedback during budget hearings before the final vote on October 5.

I’ll continue to keep you updated as we move through the budget process.
