Another busy week…

From the IBJ Innovate Indiana event at UE and celebrating $1 million committed to strengthen early childhood education in our region, to speaking with Leadership Everyone, joining the Boys & Girls Club community cleanup, meeting with small business owners, Plumbers & Steamfitters picnic, and connecting with neighbors at Block-by-Block in Tepe Park neighborhood.

I also had the chance to celebrate growth and investment through the grand openings of Hyundai of Evansville and Granted House of Hope, and even stopped by Working Distributors retailer event to see the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales.

Every week looks a little different, but it’s always about building relationships, solving problems, and moving Evansville forward.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for today's Doing Business with the City event. It was encouraging to see local businesses, city departments, prime contractors, and community partners come together to learn more about city contracting opportunities and build new connections. A special thank you to the Southwest Indiana SBDC for their partnership and for helping bring this event together. I’m hopeful the relationships started today will open doors, create new opportunities, and help more Evansville businesses grow alongside our city.

This afternoon I had the opportunity to join fellow regional leaders Tim Burke, Bob Koch, and Ron Romain as a panelist for the Mitch Daniels Leadership Foundation State of the Economy class.

We had a great conversation about where Southwest Indiana is headed, the opportunities in front of us, and what it will take to keep our region growing and competitive in the years ahead.

One thing is clear: our region’s success will not be defined by our size, but by our willingness to work together, invest in people, and create opportunities that strengthen our community for generations to come.

I was excited to help kick off “Our Summer: 250 Years of History,” Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library's summer reading celebration!📚☀️

Our libraries play such an important role in helping children and families stay engaged, curious, and connected throughout the summer months. I encourage everyone to visit the library, participate in this year’s program, and make reading part of your summer adventure.

What an impactful morning at our first Block-By-Block of the year in Jacobsville!

Within the first 30 minutes, we had already filled a dumpster and ordered a second to help clear heavy trash and alley debris. By the end of the cleanup, we had cleared 22 w**d cases and 6 trash cases for free, while also demolishing the 104th property through the Fight Blight program.

One of the best parts of Block-By-Block is getting to connect with residents one-on-one. It’s City services on a magnified level, bringing resources, cleanup efforts, and direct conversations right to the front door of our residents.

Thank you to the City employees, community partners, and volunteers who make this work happen and helped make a real impact in Jacobsville this morning!

Next stop: Tepe Park, Friday, June 12 from 9am-11am.
