UPDATE: TRAINING IS COMPLETED!

🚒 LIVE FIRE TRAINING NOTICE 🚒

Today, Pearce’s Mill Fire Department will be participating in a live fire training exercise at a property off Airport Road. Residents and motorists in the area may notice smoke, fire apparatus, and increased emergency vehicle traffic throughout the day.
We ask everyone to use caution while traveling in the area and understand that this is a planned training event being conducted under controlled conditions.
Live fire training is one of the most valuable training opportunities available to firefighters. It allows personnel to practice fire attack, search and rescue, ventilation, water supply operations, and incident command in a realistic environment. These exercises help ensure that when a real emergency occurs, firefighters are prepared to respond safely, effectively, and efficiently for the citizens we serve.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to FTCC Fire & Rescue and the Fayetteville Fire Department for the invitation and for coordinating the logistics necessary to make this training possible. We also appreciate the participation and commitment to training from Stoney Point Fire Department, Grays Creek Fire Department, and Stedman Fire Department.
Training together strengthens our ability to work as a team when large-scale emergencies occur and ultimately benefits the communities we all serve.
Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to train for tomorrow’s emergencies.

Congratulations to Lieutenant Ryan Gustafson and his wife Megan on the arrival of their beautiful baby boy. Mom and baby are both doing great, and we couldn’t be happier for their growing family.

We wish the Gustafson family a lifetime full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories as they begin this exciting new chapter together.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Pearce’s Mill Fire Department! 🚒❤️

Today we celebrate all the moms out there — especially the ones who raised firefighters, married firefighters, or somehow survive living with firefighters. Y’all deserve medals of your own. 😂

Thank you for putting up with random tones going off during dinner, unfinished projects around the house, uniforms in the washing machine, and hearing “I gotta go, there’s a call” at the worst possible times. We all know being a firefighter’s mom or wife means you’ve probably mastered eating cold food and falling asleep alone while we’re out helping others.

To the moms reading this: thank you for the sacrifices you make every single day, the love you pour into your families, and the support you give behind the scenes that keeps all of us going.

We hope your day is filled with love, laughter, naps, actually finding the keys or wallet right in front of us and at least one uninterrupted trip to the bathroom. Happy Mother’s Day from your Pearce’s Mill Fire Department family! 🚒❤️

Despite spending all days on calls, our crews found the time to spend a few hours to if by training on drop tank operations and training the next generation of engineers.

Since the state-issued ban on open burning was enacted March 28, a total of 554 wildfires has burned more than 2,200 acres across the state. With little rainfall or improvement expected over the next 7-10 days, the statewide burn ban and enforcement action will continue until further notice.

Of the 554 wildfires that have burned since the burn ban took effect, only four have been determined to be the result of lightning strikes. Preliminary data indicates that 152 of those 554 wildfires were determined to be human caused, with the remainder listed as unknown or undetermined, likely pending law enforcement investigation and action. Since the state’s burn ban took effect, 150 citations have been issued for illegal burning.

During a state-issued burn ban, the same N.C. Forest Service personnel providing initial and extended attack for wildfire response are providing the necessary enforcement action to support the ban on open burning. Reducing the number of new ignitions is critical for sustaining adequate resource availability for an extended period, making state-issued bans a necessary tool for keeping wildfires contained and as small as possible until fully extinguished.

The public is urged to abide by the burn ban and to use extreme caution with farm equipment, machines, mowers, vehicles on dry grass, smoking materials such as ci******es, anything that can throw a spark. In current high-risk conditions, these could be a possible fire source. While not classified as open burning and not affected by the state’s ban on open burning, they are still contributors to new fire starts across the state.
