They have been gifting the police departments around the county and surrounding counties with thin blue line pictures and today we were presented with our very own. 05/10/2020

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. Currently, tens of thousands of law enforcement officers from around the world converge on Washington, DC to participate in a number of planned events which honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice. This year, unfortunately, the events for this week have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Genesee County 911 pays their respects to those officers who we have lost in the line of duty and we are grateful for those who continue to put their lives on the line in the name of service to their communities. We may be biased but we work with the absolute best there is in Genesee County and we love our #bluefamily.

Happy National Police week to police officers around the world! Thank you for your service. 💙

We would like to give a huge shout out to General Motors for the donation of face shields for our dispatchers. We have been short on protective wear and other supplies during this pandemic. Working in such close proximity to each other without being able to socially distance properly during our long shifts has been an issue. This extra tool has been so helpful and we are incredibly grateful.

The support that was shown this morning by our local police, fire and EMS agencies was not only humbling but also emotional. What a sight to see during shift change when the responders on the front line of this pandemic, honor those who work so hard behind the scenes. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you!
