Genesee County sends every prayer and all of their love to Oakland County. 馃檹馃徏

Our dedicated men and women work all hours of the day and night, through any conditions including a worldwide pandemic. They are in the jail and on the road and we are very proud of them. So, it is frustrating and makes us sad when while they are diligently doing their job, someone by their own bad choices causes them injury or death. A person decided to drink and drive and now we have a Deputy in ICU. Prayers are welcome.

Do your children know what to do if they need to call 9-1-1?

Its especially important for our little ones to know where they are and what they're calling for in the event of an emergency. A good trick is to keep your home address on a sign or post it note somewhere large enough and visible to them so that if they need to call for emergency services and an adult is not available to do so, they can let the dispatcher know exactly where to send them. Please open the conversation with your children about what they will need to know if they ever need to dial 9-1-1 so they are well prepared to give the right information to dispatchers so we can help them!

Please remember that legitimate banks, creditors, and other financial institutions will normally not call and ask for your personal information(social security numbers, bank account or credit card account numbers, etc) or use intimidation to gain this information from you. Also be aware of scams including people calling and asking you to send them gift cards of any amount in return for the release of a vehicle that is in police possession, or from any caller who tells you a family member of yours has been arrested or injured and needs your financial information for payment to have them released or treated. THESE ARE ALL NON LEGITIMATE and known scams. There are many out there and very prevalent these days. Please be mindful of who you give your information to and if you are not sure, call 9-1-1.
