Tomorrow's meeting includes important discussions that will help shape the future of our district, including:

💻 Technology for Tomorrow
Learn about a proposed districtwide network infrastructure upgrade that would be funded primarily through the federal E-Rate Program. This investment will strengthen the technology that supports teaching, learning, and daily operations while helping meet our long-term capital needs.

🏗️ Investing in Our Schools
District leaders will also provide an update on the School Facility Oversight Board (SFOB) Building Renewal Grant Program, highlighting how Florence Unified has leveraged outside funding to maintain and improve our schools and facilities while reducing the burden on local taxpayers.

Friday Feature 🏈 Hear from STFHS teacher and 2026-2027 Head Football Coach who was recently interviewed by AZP365.

When discussing today’s students, he shared a message that resonates far beyond the football field:

“Inside everybody, you want to be a part of something special.”

He was asked why he does this after 42 seasons coaching overall.

Coach Sword responded “There are just some things you are meant to be doing.”

We are grateful for community partners like Florence Copper who continue to invest in the success of our students. Since 2011, Florence Copper has awarded more than $130,000 in scholarships to students in Florence and surrounding communities, including $20,000 in scholarships awarded this year alone.

While summer is just getting started, July 22nd, the first day of school, will be here before we know it! At the May Governing Board Meeting, new school hours were approved for the 2026-2027 school year. Families are encouraged to take a moment to review and jot down the updated start and end times, as schedules have slightly changed for our Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another great year in Florence Unified School District!

Summer Meal Distribution Update:
Florence Unified School District will not be offering a summer meals program during Summer 2026 due to declining participation and rising operational costs, we are grateful to partner with neighboring communities that will continue supporting families this summer.

Families seeking meal opportunities may visit nearby meal sites in Coolidge and San Tan Valley, and eligible families may also receive support through the Sun Bucks Summer EBT Program.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of FUSD.

The celebrations for our graduating seniors continue! 🇺🇸🎓

FUSD extends our gratitude to the San Tan Valley Town Council for recognizing graduating students from Poston Butte High School & San Tan Foothills High School who have chosen to serve our country through military service.

On this Memorial Day weekend, the significance of their decision is felt deeply in all of our hearts. These young men & women are stepping forward with courage, commitment, & a willingness to serve something greater than themselves.

We wish each of them safety & success as they begin this important journey. Please know that you have an entire community standing behind you, supporting you, & ready to welcome you back home with pride.

Congratulations to the Florence Unified School District Class of 2026! 🎓✨

Last night was a memorable celebration across all three of our high schools as our seniors walked across the stage and officially became graduates. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and cannot wait to see where their next journey takes them.

Seniors of Florence High School, Poston Butte High School and San Tan Foothills High School, no matter where life leads, remember, you will always have a home here in FUSD ❤️
