The Pinal County Public Health Services District would like to put on record that, contrary to an inaccurate news report from Arizona’s Family News Station on Wednesday evening, there have been NO confirmed cases of E. coli linked to the Global Water supply in the City of Maricopa.

Pinal County Public Health did receive a report of seven unconfirmed cases of E. coli from a healthcare facility in Maricopa, but having investigated this report, it has determined that there is no evidence that any instances of E. coli were related to the precautionary boil notice issued by Global Water last week, and there is no known ongoing threat to Public Health. In response to reports of threats and intimidation against election officials, Pinal County Recorder Dana Lewis and Pinal County Sheriff's Office Ross Teeple are working together to ensure Pinal County residents have a safe, secure election.

Threats against election workers are unacceptable. Every public servant deserves to perform their duties without fear of harassment, intimidation, or violence. These incidents are particularly concerning as election officials across Arizona work extended hours to prepare for and administer the upcoming election.

Our message is clear: threats and intimidation have no place in our elections. We will remain vigilant, work together to protect our employees and the public, and continue our commitment to administering safe, secure, and lawful elections in Pinal County.
