Good morning,
Unsecured loads, littering and debris along the routes to the Tri-Community Landfill has been an increasing issue lately. It’s imperative for the safety of motorists, and for the respect of our community members living on these routes to secure items on your trucks and trailers before leaving from your destination when heading to the landfill. Thank you for your cooperation with this important matter.

In 2025, an estimated 11,500 to 12,500 people died in alcohol-impaired driving crashes in the United States. This equates to roughly one person dying every 39 to 44 minutes, with alcohol continuing to play a role in about one-third of all traffic-related fatalities.

We would like to wish our seniors a safe and enjoyable Prom night. Be safe!

Prom season is an exciting time for our students, but as you prepare for the big night, the Fort Fairfield Police Department wants to ensure that "unforgettable" only refers to the fun memories, not a tragedy on the road.
We’re teaming up with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to share these essential tips for our local teens:
🚗 : Save the photos and social media posts for when you aren't behind the wheel. Distraction is a major factor in teen crashes. Keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel.
🚫 Drive Sober: Underage drinking and drug use are illegal and dangerous. If you’ve consumed any impairing substance, don’t get behind the wheel. Period.
⚠️ Buckle Up: It’s the easiest way to save a life. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is buckled up—every trip, every time.
📉 Slow Down: Inexperience behind the wheel makes speeding especially dangerous. Give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination safely.
😴 Stay Alert: Prom nights are long. If you're feeling exhausted, don't risk driving drowsy. Work out a plan with friends to stay the night in a safe place or have a trusted adult pick you up.
We hope that you all have a great and memorable evening. Be safe!
